DIY guide to creating painted clothes peg name cards for your homemade wedding from A Alicia Handmade
Today’s guest blog post is another fab DIY guide, this time from the lovely Anna who is the designer behind A Alicia Handmade. She has put together this ‘how to’ guide for making peg name cards, and also has lots of advice on how to give them your own style!
Without further ado, it’s over to Anna…
Hi, I’m Anna and I’m a designer-maker and author of craft/interiors how-to book Make it Your Own. The idea behind the book was to encourage anyone trying the projects to explore and develop their own design style, to literally make the projects their own, and I think this principle couldn’t be more important in planning your wedding.
Whatever kind of day you’re planning – from a big do with loads of guests to a tiny ceremony followed by chips and champagne in a lovely old pub (mine was the latter option!) – it’s such a beautiful opportunity to explore who the two of you are.
The lovely Anna from A Alicia Handmade got in touch to tell me about a great offer she’s running, but only until the end of the month – 31st July 2012 – so that’s less than a week! If you’d love to purchase one of Anna’s beautiful garters, which are made with organic, fair trade and vintage textiles and ribbons, and you quite fancy a 25% discount, then click on this link and use the code LOVE25 at the checkout.
A Alicia Handmade has been part of The Natural Wedding Company directory for before I can even remember, I bought one of her blue ribbon garters for my own wedding last May and can testify to not only how pretty it was (even the box it came in was beautiful) but how comfy it was.
Announcing the winner of the A Alicia Handmade competition to win a £25 gift voucher for wedding accessories
This afternoon I have the pleasure of announcing another lucky winner, this time from the A Alicia Handmade competition. To enter, Anna of A Alicia Handmade wanted to know which was your favourite item from her wedding collection – there were lots of lovely entries for this competition, but there can only be one winner.
A huge congratulations to Holly – I’ll be in touch with details of your gift voucher and maybe you might share with us what you decide to buy? How you will ever choose from all those beautiful items I don’t know!
*This competition is now closed*
What a lovely competition I have for you today! The winner of today’s competition will win a £25 gift voucher to spend on beautiful wedding accessories from A Alicia Handmade. You might have heard me talk about Anna from A Alicia Handmade before, she not only made my garter but she’s coming up to Cheshire to do a workshop at The Natural Wedding Company’s birthday party in April.
There are all kinds of pretty and unique wedding accessories to choose from, including delicate ring pillows, a lovely range of garters made from vintage ribbons and lace, fabric flower garlands, clutch bags and fascinators. Everything is made by hand and using a variety of vintage and ethical fabrics.
Anna of A Alicia Hen Party Workshops runs unique and fun hen party workshops where to can make decorations, favours, necklaces or fascinators using eco-ethical materials and vintage elements. For a limited-time only, she is offering our readers an exclusive discount of £5 off per ‘hen’ on her hen party workshops.
Anna is a designer and maker of beautifully crafted eco-ethical textile jewellery and wedding ranges, making her the perfect teacher to help you create your own, handmade pieces that you can take home and treasure – and perhaps even incorporate into your wedding day.
The workshops last about 2 hours and Anna can come along to any London location, be it your front room, or a cosy pub, or she can book or suggest venues for your hen party.
I am a bit nervous about sharing this news in case you don’t share my excitement – I really hope you do, so fingers-crossed. As you might know by now, I am celebrating 5 years of The Natural Wedding Company this March 2012 – there will be loads of offers and competitions everyday during March so make sure you keep checking back.
When thinking about how I would love to celebrate 5 years, I couldn’t think of a lovelier way to celebrate than with a small party with some of my readers, eating cake and doing something crafty. So…
I would like to invite you to The Natural Wedding Company’s 5th Birthday Party!
Now, there have been all kinds of glamorous parties and events in the wedding industry world, I was even lucky enough to go to the Love My Dress Summer Soiree last year. My party isn’t going to be anywhere near the scale of these other events, my party is going to be a small party – there are just 10 places available – and you won’t need to dress up in swanky frocks, although party dresses are welcome!
This was love at first – the moment I spotted these masks from A Alicia Handmade I was smitten and head-over-heels in love. Aren’t they just gorgeous?
As one of the wonderful businesses listed on the directory, Anna not only makes beautiful wedding accessories, but she also runs hen party craft workshops – the foxy masquerade and burlesque masquerade mask making parties are her latest additions. What’s even better is she is offering The Natural Wedding Company readers an exclusive offer – so keep reading for details.
