Are you ready to be blown away by today’s glamourous couple and their beautiful wedding? We are bringing you a candlelit church ceremony! Yes that’s right, candlelit, in a quaint old church, during a thunderstorm, how flipping romantic!

The gorgeous details and romance doesn’t stop there, there are elegant blush bridesmaids, to-die-for DIY details, a vintage ice-cream trike, garden games on the lawn, Scottish dancing…I could go on and on.

Dominique and Nick’s ‘everything we love’ themed wedding took place in August last year in the beautiful grounds of a private school , in Thornton, Buckinghamshire. With nods to the 1930’s and a relaxed bohemian feel this wedding truly is a feast for the eyes.

Well it has just about been forever since I last shared some wedding cake inspiration here on my Cake Love feature, but I am back with an absolute beauty that I’m convinced you’ll all fall in love with.

This exquisite ‘Summer Meadow’ wedding cake was designed and made by our very own Amy Swann Cakes who you will find listed in the Cakes section of our directory. Amy is a firm favourite of ours with her incredible talent at creating sugar paste flowers that look almost more real than real flowers!

One of my favourite parts of my job is browsing the websites of the wedding suppliers we list in the directory to see what new things they’ve been busy creating, making, or planning. There are always some hidden gems to discover, and then I get to share them with you!

Recently I came across these beautiful seasonal spring bouquets for a daffodil inspired wedding – now what could be more appropriate to share at this time of year, as all around us daffodil buds are plumping up ready to burst open and cheer us all up with their sunny yellow faces?

So excited to share today’s wedding with you as our gorgeous TNWC Real Bride Miriam is now a Mrs and has all the wonderful details to finally share with us from her 1920’s Scottish inspired big day!

If like me you have been following Miriam and John’s planning story then you too must be dying to see all the little snippets of information they have provided perfectly amalgamated into one big day of gorgeousness and it really doesn’t disappoint! Miriam wears a beautiful Jenny Packham gown, the perfect nod to the 1920’s era that they wanted to reflect, then of course there are kilts, bagpipes and ceilidh dancing plus the most divine bee-friendly british blooms by TNWC recommended supplier Pyrus and smiles a plenty!

Miriam has written a beautiful rendition of her day so it is only fair to now pass over to her to indulge you lovely lot.

How time flies when you are newlyweds setting up home! It has been almost four months since our wedding day, so about time for me to write this blog. I have been so lucky to meet or contact so many wonderful suppliers, the whole experience of wedding planning and enjoying the day has been absolutely wonderful. I’ve been hearing a lot from recently engaged brides-to-be, and it got me thinking about how much I’ve enjoyed these past two years handing over my little space of internet to other blogging brides.

So I’d like to open my blog once again to a small group of brides-to-be who would like to share their wedding planning adventures as a TNWC Real Bride. What’s really special for me is that most of the previous TNWC Real Brides I’ve stayed in touch with and become good friends via the wonders of social media, which is pretty darned cool in my books.

I am once again looking for brides-to-be who are planning a natural, eco-friendly, seasonal, vintage and/or homemade wedding.

Last year’s TNWC Real Brides are all married apart from Ellie, who continues to share her plans on the blog for her upcoming May wedding. You can view all the previous posts by TNWC Real Brides here, lots of them full of lovely little DIY details.

Well our first real wedding of 2015 is an absolute scorcher, just like the beautiful weather that shone for the gorgeous outdoor wedding of Ciara and Matt, who had the first and only garden wedding at the beautiful Anglesey Abbey Gardens. The setting could not have been more perfect for their vibrant, relaxed day on 31st August. Taking inspiration from wedding blogs (including our very own pages) and Pinterest they created the ‘natural, summery, vintage, outdoorsy, chilled and informal’ wedding they dreamt of.

The day was beautifully captured in the most stunning wedding film by TNWC recommended suppliers Bright Star Films, and as Ciara explained choosing a videographer was a priority for them,

‘For us the video took precedence, and with the help of Sinead and Kieran at Bright Star Films, we are the proud owners of what we consider to be the best wedding video of all time! (we’re biased….of course!) Their video will forever be treasured by us both, and all of our family and friends!’

Wow! Now if that hasn’t bought a tear to your eye!

Our last real wedding for 2014, beautifully put together by Samantha…

There is something so magical about this time of year isn’t there? I just love Christmas time and all the festivities that come with it, there is an air of excitement and everything seems to have a glow about it!

It was for just this reason that Emily and George the beautiful couple from today’s real wedding chose to have a winter wedding on the 28^th December: “We love the winter, and we really wanted to play to its strengths for our wedding. With long, dark evenings and intimate, cosy family gatherings, there was a lot to work with.”

We couldn’t agree more, their wedding is so romantic and elegant, with some wonderful inspiration for those couples planning a winter wedding without wanting a bit of tinsel in sight!

It’s a very exciting wedding we have to bring you today, with a bride that will need little introduction. It’s the fabulous, fun-filled, festival-themed family affair of TNWC Real Bride Kerry and her now husband Nick! We’ve shared in the planning and now we can revel in the gorgeousness that is their big day!

Kerry and Nick got married on 9th August this summer at TNWC Recommended Supplier Cowparsley Weddings at Roughmoor Farm, Somerset; which they described as an ‘amazing venue’ and we couldn’t agree more!

Now go grab a cup of tea (or a cider to get you into the spirit of things), take a break and enjoy the wonderful words shared by Kerry…

There are so many gorgeous details to love about today’s wedding I wouldn’tknow where to start, and a bride that says she wished to look like a woodland fairy queen on her big day is a bride after my own heart!

Ellie and Dean’s relaxed, Cornish wedding features an abundance of colourful accents including a vintage peacock print shawl, emerald shoes and swoon-worthy blooms. Then there’s a beautiful old, flower filled church and a garden party in a spectacular tent, with shared roast lamb platters to bring guests together.

To top it all off the portraits of the new Mr and Mrs look like they are straight out of a fairy tale! All captured exquisitely on film by fine art film photographers Taylor & Porter, who you can find listed in the directory as one of our recommended wedding suppliers, and in the words of bride Ellie “are absolutely fantastic.”

Visitors past and present we’d love your feedback, thoughts and ideas for our 2014 visitor survey – plus a giveaway!

It has been quite a while since we last did a visitor survey and after a funny old year since having a baby, it felt like a good time to ask for your thoughts and feedback.

We have some ideas for improvements we’d like to make to the website, but what our visitors think is one of the most important aspects. So we’ve put together a visitor survey and would like to ask our lovely brides – both past and present – to give us their feedback.

Instead of creating a quick multiple choice survey, we have tried to ask questions that allow you to share your views and thoughts, as your individual opinions are what matter most. We hope you’d be up for taking 10 minutes out of your day or evening and sharing your views with us.

As a thank you for completing our survey, we’ll be entering everyone into a giveaway to win a beautiful 2015 calender from Pirrip Press (below!), who can usually be found in our Stationery category with their contemporary hand-printed wedding stationery.
