Hannah and Gregg’s modern folk wedding at an English manor house with an elegant two piece wedding dress
Today’s couple Hannah and Gregg are so effortlessly cool and their beautiful modern folk wedding perfectly reflects this. Their stunningly simple style truly allows the emotion and enjoyment of all involved to shine through from the brides’s two piece and flower crown to the radiant smiles beaming across everyone’s faces.
Not only do the photos of their day showcase that it really isn’t always the little decor details that count but they are testament to the importance of finding yourself a brilliant photographer. Hannah and Gregg’s big day was shot by one of our recommended suppliers, the lovely Oxi Photography. Oxana has a real talent for perfectly capturing the essence and emotion of people, which on your wedding day when you are surrounded by all your loved ones, is one of the most important things.
We will now pass you over to the bride Hannah to share with you the finer details about their big day…
A romantic Flower Fairy inspired wedding with gypsophila flower crown and woodland themed wedding reception
I had another blog feature planned for today, but then I found out it is my colleague Samantha’s fourth wedding anniversary today, and naturally I felt that sharing some snippets from her beautiful wedding was much more appropriate.
Samantha came into my life a couple of years ago when I was looking for someone to become a blog features writer – up until that point it had just been me running The Natural Wedding Company directory and writing the blog. I loved her enthusiasm and obvious love for weddings, I loved that she had become a mum at a similar time to me and had a little boy near in age to my little girl, and I loved that she had been inspired by childhood books The Flower Fairies for her wedding.
Whilst we don’t get to see each other very much because we live at opposite ends of the country, she has become such an important part of my life and the fabric and future of The Natural Wedding Company. So today while she celebrates four years of marriage with her husband Paul, our blog will celebrate that day four years ago when they said their “I do’s”.
Here’s to celebrating true love (these two are truly my idols when it comes to romance – you’ll see what I mean from Paul’s proposal) and to living out our girlhood dreams of being Flower Fairies. Put on a suitable romantic song, turn it up loud and enjoy this sweet celebration of marriage. Over to Samantha for a few snippets from her wedding…
A wedding inspired by The Flower Fairies
I have deep down (ok, not that deep down) always wished to be a flower fairy, therefore wanted to create the feeling of a magical world in the depths of the woods for everyone to enjoy. Luckily Paul didn’t even bat an eyelid when I suggested that we go for a woodland inspired ‘theme’ which would feature giant strawberries.
Today’s inspirational shoot is like something out of a fairytale, a laid-back modern fairytale but a fairytale woodland wedding nonetheless. Think little red riding hood, with a touch of Hansel and Gretel and a whole dose of an intimate love story to rival any Snow White or Sleeping Beauty.
Set in a secluded forest, this stunning Austrian shoot provides an abundance of autumnal and winter wedding inspiration, with gorgeous shades of green, berry and cream, incredible fashion and a to-die-for candlelit first-dance.
Here’s the film from the shoot to give you a little taster of just how beautiful it is:
Stefanie who created the shoot told us: “Summer might be a classical time for a wedding but in autumn, when it’s cooler outside, a wedding can be equally beautiful. With furs, blankets, candles and fire bowls the wedding party can easily spend unforgettable hours outside. Natural materials, homemade cakes and other sweets turn the party in something unique and personal.”
Stefanie of Mademoiselle Fee explains the dreamy vision behind the shoot: “Our idea was to accompany a newly wed couple on a romantic walk through an autumnal forest. The two have just exchanged vows, maybe in a chapel close by.
What we wanted to show was a couple, close to nature and grounded, spending this most beautiful day where their hearts are drawing them – to the forest with a little secluded house.”
Well what a week it’s been full of wreath idea – and nothing Christmassy in sight. Alice from Lock Cottage Flowers has shown us how to create a January moss wreath, seasonal Valentine’s wreaths, and today she’ll be showing us how to make a table wreath with potted violas and ivy. If you’d like to see all the posts in this feature series then you’ll find them here at Wreaths Throughout The Seasons.
I’ve really loved her use of living plants in her wreaths, and creating living centrepieces is something we’ve previously shared on the blog. I would love to see more weddings using them in creative ways, and as these ideas show they would work beautifully for a woodland inspired wedding or an eco-chic city wedding perhaps.

Tamsin and Alex’s relaxed eco-friendly wedding with woodland handfasting ceremony and the best cake ever
Eco-friendly wedding with handfasting ceremony
What a beautiful way to welcome in the New Year with this down-to-earth, relaxed eco-friendly wedding of Tamsin and Alex. Captured by the lovely Emma of Emma Stoner Photography (and second shooter Heather Birnie), who can be found featured on the Photography + Film page of our directory, this wedding is bound to inspire you. Plus it has my new all-time-favourite wedding cake and wedding hair!
Tamsin and Alex got married in September at Middle Coombe Farm in Devon, where they fell in love with “it’s wonderful inhabitants and beautiful sprawling woodlands.” Here at TNWC we recently fell for the charms of Middle Coombe Farm and are delighted that you’ll now find them on the directory too.
Over to Tamsin to tell us more…
Middle Coombe Farm for a woodland wedding
“[We wanted] a relaxed and rustic [feel], with lots for everyone to do and an eclectic take on decorations and as eco conscious as I could make it. We chose Middle Coombe Farm after finding out about it’s wonderful inhabitants and beautiful sprawling woods. The accommodation was also spot on, with a place for campers, a campervan, family and close friends and little ones! It advertises itself as an eco venue too so we were very sold!
Mini crocheted leaf garland wedding cake topper
I have squirrelled away this fantastic find in a secret Pinterest board where I keep my absolute favourite ideas, ready for sharing on the blog. Every so often I browse through this secret board looking for something that inspires me to share at that moment with you – with all the green leaves unfurling in the hedgerows around us, there didn’t seem like a better time to share this crocheted leaf garland cake topper with you.
Isn’t it perfect!
It is from a fab website called Pea Green Boat selling all kinds of interesting and unusual ‘party paraphernalia’ and, well, this just captured my attention. It’s available in shades of green, or white (see below) and would be just fab for a woodland wedding, a spring wedding, or just any kind of wedding it’s so sweet.
Claire and Andrew’s secluded woodland wedding with rustic chic handmade details, giants tipis and festoon lighting
Secluded woodland wedding with giant tipis and festoon lighting
Set among the woods with a swoon-worthy sunset as a backdrop today’s beautiful rustic chic wedding of the gorgeous Claire and Andrew is pure wedding magic! Stunning creative homemade details, tipi tents from TNWC recommended supplier Papakata with festoon lighting and page boys in bow ties are just a few of the many things I am sure you are going to love about this wedding.
A summer wedding in Yorkshire
Claire and Andrew were wed in the summer in South Yorkshire on a gloriously sunny day. Their reception venue having never before been used for that purpose, required meticulously planning from scratch to create the beautiful day we are sharing with you today.
With bride Claire being a designer by profession, you can understand how it all was executed so perfectly and you are guaranteed to find some fantastic do-it-yourself inspiration along the way. So on that note it is over to the lovely lady herself, beautiful bride Claire with all the details from their big day.
