I am so thrilled to share this photoshoot with you, and what could be lovelier than a bridal shoot featuring a reindeer, some owls, the beautiful windswept Cornish landscape, and a lush woodland? Oh, and a handful of TNWC recommended wedding suppliers.
Well, in my book, there aren’t many things lovelier, so I was delighted when Sarah Falugo (who also runs Green Photographic) got in touch to see if I would featured this stunning shoot.
There are just so many lovely photos from this shoot that I struggled to narrow it down – so rather than only share a handful I’ve decided to split the shoot into two parts to allow you to enjoy them all.
Today I’ve got those fantastic pictures featuring the wild Cornish landscape and that rather handsome reindeer, and tomorrow you’ll find the lush woodland shots complete with stunning florals and table decorations.
This photoshoot was a collaboration between photographer Sarah Falugo and Lucy Jenner-Brown who works for Gwel an Mor the location where the shoot took place. They also brought together a fantastic team that crafted this almost magical photoshoot, including TNWC’s very own Charlie Scribble and The Blue Carrot.
Who better to introduce this shoot than photographer Sarah Falugo, who first dreamt it up, and to tell you a bit more about the inspiration behind the shoot and how it came about: “Lucy Jenner-Brown who works for the wedding venue Gwel an Mor asked me if I’d be interested in doing a wedding shoot involving the reindeer and owls that they have at the property and of course I jumped at it.”
“We had a very small budget so the styling of the shoot really evolved depending on what we could borrow or get our hands on for next to nothing! Once we got My Vintage Affair involved everything came together – Jo travelled down from London with a suitcase of vintage dresses, jewellery and accessories (she is an air hostess and runs her vintage clothing business in a unique way: she charity shops ALL OVER THE WORLD – can you imagine!?”
It’s great to hear that the team had a small budget, perfect for anyone dreaming up inspiration for their wedding who doesn’t want to spend a fortune.
I love this fern and seedhead buttonhole created by Susanne from The Blue Carrot – it would be ideal for an autumn or winter wedding where there aren’t many flowers in season, but it’s no less equally beautiful.
Sarah told me, “Lucy and I began styling the shoot with more of a folky feel to it but as it evolved it turned more vintage. I took my inspiration for the shoot from classic portraiture photography where a subject will be photographed full length in a very neutral style – looking straight into the camera and allowing the viewer to return the subjects’ gaze for as long as they wish.”
I really love this style of photography from Sarah Falugo, especially the black and white images – they really have that Old World and timeless feel to them.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the first part of this magical photoshoot, it has that lovely timeless quality both to the styling and to the photographs that I simply adore. And there’s more to come!
Don’t forget tomorrow I’ve got part 2 of this beautiful photoshoot, which is full of lush florals, rustic paper details and more effortlessly chic vintage styling.
