This Sunday 24th February is the White Memoirs Vintage Wedding Fair in Manchester and along with a number of other girls, I am really looking forward to it! There is still time to get a ticket (and they’re available on the door) and to enter this incredible competition to win a wedding package prize worth £1,000. Amongst the lovely exhibitors who will be attending this weekend, is TNWC recommended supplier Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe. Nicola who runs Silver Sixpence got in touch to tell me about her Bespoke Boutique that she’s running at the White Memoirs Vintage Wedding Fair.

Nicola is offering brides-to-be the opportunity to book a 30 minute appointment with her to discuss what you want in terms of a bespoke bridal accessory – from beautiful headpieces to birdcage veils, dainty garters and pretty sashes. As well as having this one-to-one time with Nicola to discuss your requirements, I’m told there’ll also be some special new bespoke pieces to try on.

In four weeks time the White Memoirs Vintage Wedding Fair will be once again gracing the beautiful town hall in Stockport. Held on Sunday 24th February 2013, the fair will run from 11am – 4pm and be stocked full of local, hand-picked suppliers to inspire unique brides across the North.

Exclusive to The Natural Wedding Company I have 20 free tickets to the fair and 10 free ‘Bridal Boot’ tables to give away – so read on if you fancy winning either (or both!) of those!

White Memoirs is an independent vintage wedding fair seeking out their suppliers by searching every corner, back alley, road, street and website there is. In just six days time a wonderful collection of wedding suppliers will be gathering at Stockport Townhall on Sunday 7th October 2012 for the White Memoirs Vintage Wedding Fair. If you haven’t already got a ticket, it’s still possible to buy them in advance from here or on the door for just £3. If you are going there are a couple of opportunities you mustn’t miss out on:

My favourite finds at the Designer Vintage Bridal Show 2012 – from heirloom veils to illustrated wedding stationery

On Saturday I headed off with my friend Faye (a bride-to-be herself) to explore the delights at this years Designer Vintage Bridal Show. Held at a beautiful old house called Hagley Hall, the show was stuffed full of exhibitors, a vintage tearoom, catwalk shows and the ever-beautiful presence of Wedding Yurts’ giant yurt set up in the grounds.

Having spent the whole journey down from Manchester nattering about weddings, both Faye and I were psyched up for a lovely day – and if you’re after a wedding fair/show that offers something a bit more personal and unique, then the Designer Vintage Bridal Show is the place to go.

So here are my favourite finds from the day…

Lucy Hayes Bespoke Bridal Veils

The first exhibitor and stall that we both fell in love with, was a riot of exquisite lace veils and headpieces. This was my idea of wedding heaven, lots of beautiful antique lace that had been lovingly crafted into some of the most breathtaking veils I’ve seen. The veils are handmade by Lucy Hayes (no website, but can be contacted at lucy@lucyhayedbridalveils.co.uk or on 01935 389 400) at her home in Dorset using French and English lace.

White Memoirs Vintage Wedding Fair is returning to the historic Stockport Town Hall on Sunday 7th October 2012 from 11am until 4pm. The second of its kind, the wedding fair looks set to be bigger and better, providing a fuller vintage experience for brides with over 50 independent bridal suppliers.

The original fair took place in February and showcased over 40 North West bridal suppliers and hosted an amazing competition to ‘Win your dream wedding’ worth over £2,000! New additions to the October wedding fair include a Victorian Gin Parlour serving G&T’s in teacups, an exclusive wedding dress catwalk show from bridal boutique The White Closet, and a unique opportunity for brides to get involved in the ‘Bridal Boot Sale’.

White Memoirs ‘Bridal Boot Sale’ will offer brides the chance to sell their pre-owned wedding items such as clothing, accessories, and decor from their big day. A ‘Bridal Boot’ table has recently been snapped up by vintage gurus Matt Nickson and Annabel Holland of Vintage 78 Gramaphone DJs, who will be celebrating their wedding day in September at the stunning Victoria Baths.

Diary date and giveaway: Vintage Chic Wedding Fair 22nd April 2012

If you are keen on having vintage inspired elements on your wedding day then I have a date for your diary – on Sunday 22nd April 2012 the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair is being held in Birmingham.

Opening its doors from 11.30am til 4pm, the fair will have over 40 vintage inspired wedding suppliers and entertainment from a jazz swing singer. A full list of exhibitors is coming shortly, but you can view past exhibitors on their website for an idea of what you can expect.

Miss Vintage Wedding Affair: 19th February 2012

The Miss Vintage Wedding Affair is a unique wedding fair organised by vintage enthusiast Amelia Barnes. Taking place on Sunday 19th February 2012, The Miss Vintage Wedding Affair will be packed with high quality, inspired and original wedding suppliers, and perfect for brides looking for something a little bit different.

It is being held at the beautiful 19th Century Glenmore House in Surrey and will give you the opportunity to chat to lots of bespoke suppliers from Surrey and South London.

There will be a wide range of stalls exhibiting, from florists to cake designers, photographers and stationers, and vintage bridal wear companies. Amelia says “With things to buy, eat, drink and do, it’s going to be more of a party than a traditional wedding fair.”

You’ll be able to relax in the 1930’s inspired bar sipping a well-deserved drink, munch on cake in the pop-up tearoom provided by Restoration Cake, or have your hair and make-up done by The Vintage Pop-up Parlour.

A fun day out at the Designer Vintage Bridal Show

I’m exhausted after a fab day out in Birmingham at the Designer Vintage Bridal Show. My friend Kerry and I enjoyed looking at all the beautiful wedding dresses (both vintage, and vintage and inspired), gorgeous displays of cake pops, cupcakes in jars, and non-edible soap cupcakes, as well as chatting with some of the wonderful people behind these businesses.

If you’re planning your wedding and interested in vintage inspired elements, and are free tomorrow, then you should definitely get yourself over to Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham and enjoy a great day out. We came away with lovely goodie bags filled with nice treats both edible and lovely smelling.
