I truly can’t believe this time has come – March 2017, the month that I get to celebrate The Natural Wedding Company’s 10th Birthday with you all. And what a way I get to celebrate, with a month jam-packed with exclusive wedding offers from our fabulous suppliers just for you.

It doesn’t feel that long ago that I was just dreaming up the idea for the directory. I had little idea then that it would turn into a business that would become my ‘full time’ job. Just five years ago I was celebrating with a lovely group of girls in a spring party at my house. I’m even still really good friends with three of those girls – how amazing is that.

Here I am another five years on, and I’m delighted to share another month full of offers and goodies for you all.

We have a great tutorial to share with you that would enable you to recreate this look for your own wedding day, whether you plan to do it yourself or are looking for ideas for your hair stylist.

A few years ago I had the real pleasure of attending the launch night party for An Era of Experience, a Manchester based vintage hen party business. For someone who doesn’t get dressed up that much and who had a childhood obsession with playing dress up, it was undoubtedly one of the most fun evenings out I’ve had (if you’re interested you can see pictures here).

Some of the team behind An Era of Experience – Bethany Jane Davies who runs The Vintage Beauty Parlour and Nicola of Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe wedding accessories – collaborated to create this fab tutorial for boho wedding hair. In addition to the tutorial are ideas on how you can wear Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe wedding hair accessories with this look.

This Sunday 24th February is the White Memoirs Vintage Wedding Fair in Manchester and along with a number of other girls, I am really looking forward to it! There is still time to get a ticket (and they’re available on the door) and to enter this incredible competition to win a wedding package prize worth £1,000. As well as having this one-to-one time with Nicola to discuss your requirements, I’m told there’ll also be some special new bespoke pieces to try on.

Living in Cheshire on the outskirts of Manchester I am lucky enough to be close to a number of lovely independent wedding businesses, one of which is Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe who have featured before on the blog.

Run by the talented Nicola, Silver Sixpence is a range of beautiful vintage inspired bridal accessories, including headpieces, garters, and these pretty new lucky horseshoes I recently showcased.

I am excited to share with you that Nicola’s designs are now available from her new Not On The High Street shop www.notonthehighstreet.com/silversixpenceinhershoe that launched today. Silver Sixpence is now one of over 3,000 small independent UK businesses on Not On The High Street, each which has been carefully chosen for their innovative and well made products.

The beautiful new collection of lucky wedding horseshoes from Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe

Last week was pretty exciting for Nicola from Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe, it saw the launch of her beautiful new ‘Blush’ collection over on Love My Dress (you absolutely must take a look). ‘Blush’ is a super romantic collection of bridal accessories featuring the softest chiffon florals, delicate beadwork, and each handcrafted by Nicola.

I am thrilled to share with you her brand new collection of wedding horseshoe charms, each made from real horseshoes, sourced from local farms and carefully reconditioned by Nicola. As you can imagine, it involves quite a bit of cleaning to transform a horseshoe previously worn by a horse into one of these beautiful charms!

An evening at the Silver Sixpence “Made By You” bridal workshop

I am priveledged to live near a vibrant community of small, independent wedding businesses with more and more opportunities to meet with them and experience the products and services they offer. A few weeks ago I got to spend the evening with Nicola from Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe at her new “Made By You” bridal workshop.

We were joined by a group of brides-to-be, two of whom I’d previously met at my 5th birthday party the month before, and another couple I’ve exchanged emails with. Each bride-to-be was there to create a unique bridal accessory that they could wear on their wedding day.

An extraordinary evening at An Era of Experience – the wonderful new travelling vintage party

There has been so much going on recently in my TNWC world that I can barely keep up – much of it very exciting. Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the press event that launched a fabulous new travelling vintage party called An Era of Experience.

Before I jump in to telling you all about my experience of An Era of Experience, I’d like to introduce you to the four talented ladies behind this collaboration.

They are Sharon, owner of vintage china and prop hire company For The Love Of Vintage; Bethany Jane Davies, the glamorous make-up artist behind The Vintage Beauty Parlour; Nicola, bespoke bridal accessories designer for Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe; and Anna, the baker and owner of boutique bakehouse And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon.

An Era of Experience combines glamorous vintage styling, Speakeasy cocktails served in teacups, boozy cakes and a chance to create your own era inspired headpiece. If you’re planning your hen party then the ladies from An Era of Experience have got everything you need to create a wonderful celebration for you and your guests.

It’s always lovely to be invited to an event or party, but this one was particularly lovely as it’s a collaboration between a number of businesses, many of whom I’ve come to know really well through The Natural Wedding Company.
