The new Minna wedding dress collection 2017 - ethical and affordable boho style wedding dresses for the natural bride

Please note: Minna is now Indiebride London.

The 2017 wedding dress collection from Minna is full of modern dresses with hints of vintage and bohemian glamour. There is exquisite attention to detail, and lots of lace – but in an understated way. 2017 and 2018 brides will be truly spoilt by how much choice there is in this new collection, but it’s the stunning back detailing that really caught our attention. Almost every dress in this new collection has a unique and often surprising back to it.

Minna wedding dress collection 2017

As always, Minna has created a collection that is not only beautiful and with excellent ethics, but also affordable. The wedding dresses in the 2017 collection range in price from £800 to £1500. On top of this during March 2017 Minna is offering 10% off to all our brides-to-be, click the link for full details and to get your offer code.

Onto the wedding dresses, here are some of our favourites…

Boho wedding dress with lace panelling

The Estelle wedding dress has a real hipster boho vibe with modern lace panelling on the back and skirt. There’s one of those beautiful wedding dress backs that you don’t expect, but really add to the overall look and feel of the dress.

Edwardian-esque wedding dress with ribbon waist

For me the star beauty of the Charley wedding dress is it’s back and the detail that’s gone into it. This dress whilst modern in feel, sweeps me right back to days gone by with all that beautiful vintage-esque lace.

The story of a handmade bride’s stunning antique lace Edwardian wedding dress from Lucy Says I Do

Charlie

Antique lace Edwardian wedding dress

Another lovely treat for you on the blog today from guest blogger Lucy of Lucy Says I Do – especially for all of you who share my love of the Edwardian era when it comes to weddings.  If you’re a regular blog reader you’ve probably already read Lucy’s previous guest posts on her bridesmaids dresses and growing your own wedding flowers, which are full of inspiration.

Today Lucy is sharing the story of how she came to choose her stunning Edwardian wedding dress – I’m just a little bit jealous!  Who else is?  If you have the budget to have a wedding dress made for you, then I hope you’ll be inspired by Lucy’s story.  Love Charlie x

Over to Lucy…

Notoriously fussy when it comes to clothes, I imagined the search for my wedding dress was going to be difficult and long, and I was a little apprehensive, as were my mum and my sister! When I booked my first dress appointments I knew what I didn’t want, but I was yet to see anything (in magazines or online) that I could see myself in on my wedding day.

My first appointment was at Jane Bourvis’s Atelier, and that’s where my wedding dress story ends, short but oh so sweet!  As soon as I walked in, I knew we’d found something very special.

Seasonal spring wedding flowers inspired by a very English ‘afternoon tea in the library’

Pink tulips, snowdrops and cyclamen leaves in a vintage teacup

The Natural Wedding Company is a huge supporter of seasonal British grown flowers (if you’re interested to know more check out the #britishflowers chat that’s happening on Twitter) and so I want to ramp up my support by sharing truly seasonal wedding flower inspiration with you.

I think what can be so hard some times is knowing actually what’s in season in Britain during each month of the year, and even whether it’s seasonal in the part of the country you’re getting married in – for example, the flower growers in Cornwall tend to have blooms earlier than somewhere in the north.

The lovely ladies from The Garden Gate Flower Company in Cornwall have been playing around with some seasonal spring flowers and created these beautiful arrangements that I’m delighted to share with you.  The ideal inspiration for those of you planning a spring wedding!

Today I have an incredible real wedding.  It is utterly epic (I don’t use words like that often) and it’s not short on beautiful ideas and inspiration if that’s what you’re looking for.  I’ve even broken it down into headings because there is so much to share with you!

Victorian inspired wedding dresses

I am so, so excited about showing off these beautifully new wedding dresses from The Vintage Wedding Dress Company because I think you’ll love them as much as me.  It was literally it was love at first sight when I spotted them.

The Vintage Wedding Dress Company are well known for their incredible collection of original antique wedding dresses, but they’ve also branched out into their own collection of vintage inspired gowns, and their newest designs have my heart aflutter.

There is a massive fan base out their for 40s and 50s style wedding dresses, and more recently 20s and 30s inspired, but what I really love are the older dresses, Edwardian and Victorian era and I’m delighted that The Vintage Wedding Dress Company have bought out a few new designs with these eras in mind.

Join me as we step into a fantasy world of exquisite wedding dresses…

Victorian style lace empire line dress #1

Victorian inspired wedding dress with Chapelle lace

This incredibly feminine Victorian inspired dress is made from Chapelle lace over soft satin and has an empire line.  Again, there is a wide range of styling additions that you can add to make this dress exactly how you want it, for example long lace sleeves or there’s even a shorter knee-length version if you want something a bit more modern.  Take a look at TVWDC website to see a few other examples of this dress.

Edwardian inspired lace wedding dress

I’m sure a number of you will have already seen this dress when the wedding was featured over on Love My Dress, but as regular readers will know I love the Edwardian era and feel the old eras are often forgotten when it comes to ‘vintage’ inspiration for weddings.  So I’m hoping I can champion it a bit here at The Natural Wedding Company.

Edwardian inspired lace wedding dress

Back in September of 2011 I featured a couple of dresses from Charlotte Casadejus that I’d fallen in-love with for their use of beautiful lace, and when I say beautiful lace I mean the kind that is intricate, delicate and feminine.  It was lovely to spot this gorgeous bride on Love My Dress wearing one of those dresses that had been tailored especially for her.

Mariette and Benjamin’s natural French countryside wedding ~ part one

Charlie

Natural French countryside wedding

Natural French countryside wedding (part one)

It goes without saying this might possibly be one of my favourite weddings ever.  Shot by American photographer David Blair, this oh-so-pretty wedding of Mariette and Benjamin took place at a family-owned, rustic stone villa in the French countryside.

If you’re regular readers of the blog, it won’t come as any surprise that the brides dress is one of my absolute favourites – I’m not sure I’ve seen many more that I think are more exquisite.  I even told Nick that I might have swapped my own wedding dress for it – he was shocked!

I love the delicate lace sleeves and the way the front is loosely draped and edged with more lace.  I love the ribbon sash around the waist that is fastened in a bow at the back and the way the skirt falls simply to the floor – the lace hem full of dainty detailing.  It seems quite Edwardian inspired – one of my favourite eras for wedding dress inspiration.

Days-gone-by wedding dress inspiration – living out a bit of those little girl dreams

Charlie

heirloom inspired wedding dresses

Were you one of those little girls who dreamt of living in a different era?  I was.  For a long time I desperately wanted my parents to buy a cottage in the middle of nowhere, and I would wear Little House on the Prairie style dresses and a pinny, and wander round with a chicken under my arm.  At least that’s what I dreamt of.

I’ve always loved period dramas, from Pride and Prejudice to Little Women I loved them all and dreamt of wearing those beautiful dresses.  I think your wedding day is one of the only days that as an average woman you get to live out a little bit of those dreams and wear a stunning dress – a dress that makes you feel inside how you used to feel imagining you were one of those girls from days-gone-by.

Charlie

Edwardian style lace wedding dress

I think the Edwardian era must be my favourite when it comes to wedding dresses, or at least the early period of the 1900s.  This blog post is purely self-indulgent because I just love this dress and wanted to share it in all its loveliness.  I love my wedding dress but how much do I wish I could wear this one!

Antique lace wedding dresses for the modern bride

Charlie

Now I appreciate that these wedding dresses are not within everyone’s budget, but I thought they were too beautiful not to share with you – if only for eye candy or inspiration.  These dresses are inspired by vintage wedding dresses and are covered in antique lace from England and France.

I love that for vintage wedding dresses, which are so often from the 1950’s, these are inspired by the 1900’s instead.  Bring on the real old school glamour I say – I think I must be a real romantic at heart.  I knew I always had a soft spot for a period drama.

These two dresses (on the left ‘Maimuna‘ on the right ‘Helen‘) are from Charlotte Casadéjus.
