Bohemian hellebore wedding inspiration shoot for spring brides

I don’t think I will ever, ever tire of a flower crown, a bold statement I know but if you take a look at today’s beautiful bohemian hellebore wedding inspiration and the to-die-for spring flower crown I think you would agree that regardless of fashion trends they are pretty timeless.

Today’s inspiration shoot was lovingly curated by Beamsley Blooms and shot by Phase 2 Photography to showcase the possibilities of using seasonal British flowers for Spring brides and grooms, offering a stunning alternative to the more traditional Spring associated blooms. Clare from Phase 2 Photography explains, “The aim of the shoot was to let the pure, natural beauty of the flowers speak for themselves and give brides an idea of what can be achieved with these stunning flowers.”

Today we are introducing you to our new series Meet the Maker. Our eco wedding directory is bursting full of incredible independent businesses with just as incredible people behind those businesses. The aim of this series is to not just introduce you to their products but share a little bit about the people that make them what they are and why in particular our brides-to-be will love what they do.

The first person we are excited to showcase today is Natalie, who is the brains behind the organic and eco-fabric wedding dress brand Sister Organics. We love the beautiful laid-back and classic designs she creates and we are sure you will do too.

Sister Organics offer affordable casual/alternative eco wedding dresses for free-spirited brides, bridesmaids dresses and party dresses. All dresses are made right here in Brighton in lovely environmentally sustainable fabrics; organic cottons, beautiful cotton laces made in England, vintage fabrics and organic silks.

My dresses are feminine, soft and comfortable to wear – they are perfect for those looking for an unconventional wedding dress.

What kind of bride do you think chooses a Sister Organics dress for their wedding?

I have to say that the majority of my customers are just the loveliest people. Some of my customers are vegans or really want an organic or eco-friendly wedding dress. Others can’t find what they are looking for in a conventional wedding dress shop or want a more casual, alternative dress for a relaxed or outdoor wedding.

Oh what a beauty of a wedding this is, with this effortlessly stylish barefoot bride in her boho two-piece wedding “dress” and the outdoor ceremony beneath an archway of weathered branches. I have literally spent hours attempting to whittle down the photos I received for Zoe and Alex’s stunning wedding, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me for not doing great at cutting them down, because they are pretty awesome.

A special thanks goes out to Alice at Forage and Blossom, one of our fab recommended suppliers and the florist for Zoe and Alex. All those gorgeous white, pale cream and green bouquets, flower crowns and arrangements – those are her work. Alice is also the one who helped get this beautiful wedding to grace our pages.

Put on some music and find somewhere to get comfy, because Zoe and Alex’s wedding deserves all the time you can give it to soak up a truly special celebration. If you are worrying about all the details you need to “have” to create the wedding of your dreams, I hope that Zoe and Alex will show you that you only need a few carefully selected elements and lots of laughter. I don’t wear a lot of make-up myself and for my own wedding day I wanted that beautiful look that almost looked like I wasn’t wearing make-up (read about it here). It’s a bit like the popular ‘just-picked from a meadow’ wedding flower style, which is very much not just picked and involves lots of creative genius behind-the-scenes in order to achieve a really natural look.

It sounds a bit daft doesn’t, “dear make-up artist, please use make-up to make me look like I’m not wearing make-up”… But they do it, and today we have Bethany Jane Davies from The Vintage Beauty Parlour to show us how to (attempt at least!) achieve this natural boho bride look for ourselves.

How to create natural boho wedding hair and accessorise it with vintage inspired headpieces

If you’re looking for inspiration on how to create natural boho wedding hair then you’re in for a treat. We have a great tutorial to share with you that would enable you to recreate this look for your own wedding day, whether you plan to do it yourself or are looking for ideas for your hair stylist.

A few years ago I had the real pleasure of attending the launch night party for An Era of Experience, a Manchester based vintage hen party business. For someone who doesn’t get dressed up that much and who had a childhood obsession with playing dress up, it was undoubtedly one of the most fun evenings out I’ve had (if you’re interested you can see pictures here).

Some of the team behind An Era of Experience – Bethany Jane Davies who runs The Vintage Beauty Parlour and Nicola of Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe wedding accessories – collaborated to create this fab tutorial for boho wedding hair. In addition to the tutorial are ideas on how you can wear Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe wedding hair accessories with this look.

I’m quite sure if you’re a regular reader you will remember this magical fairytale woodland wedding shoot from Austria sent to us by the lovely Stephanie of Mademoiselle Fee – well we have another beautiful shoot to share from her today.

Set on a weather worn wooden dock over an Austrian lake, this English picnic and wildflower inspired shoot brings you just the right amount of down-to-earth boho wedding inspiration.

From a barefoot bride in a 1970s-esque crochet wedding dress to the understated (and therefore perfect in my books) tea party, what I love most about the shoots created by Mademoiselle Fee and her team is the genuine, heartfelt love and emotions that emanate from the pictures. Yes, the detailings are beautiful, but it’s the tenderness that is captured, woven in with the pretty details, that make her shoots truly special.

A homage to English picnics and wildflowers

The inspiration from the shoot came from both the lake itself and a flower crown, from one of our own dear friends, Amy Swann. Stephanie told me:

“I love this place at the lake, so do all our friends, and when I saw Amy Swann’s flower crown, I immediately had this picture in my mind of a relaxed couple lying on the deck. Some years ago, when I was engaged, I found The Natural Wedding Company and have been following your inspiring blog posts ever since. This shoot is a homage to English picnics and wildflowers, to bunting and homemade cakes. I love this outdoor way of enjoying life and nature.”

What a treat we have for you today with another beautiful real wedding – this time with a bit of twist. Usually weddings are submitted to us by the bride or her wedding photographer, but today’s pretty Somerset wedding was sent to us by wedding stylist Kirsten who runs The Little Wedding Helper.

The bride and groom – Alison and Rama – had a down-to-earth wedding held in their garden full of bohemian styling, Moroccan lanterns, and a dash of English country charm. The couple decided not to have a wedding photographer, but lucky for us they allowed Kirsten to bring along her own photographer to capture some of their day and gorgeous details.

One of my favourite parts of Alison and Rama’s wedding is that guests were invited to bring flowers rather than gifts, which were then used to create the table decorations – what a lovely idea and one that created a vibrant palette of colour that really complements the Bohemian feel of their wedding.

So it’s over to Kirsten to tell you about Alison and Rama’s wedding and how she helped style it…

Recently I had the pleasure of welcoming Daughters of Simone onto The Natural Wedding Company directory, an online vintage wedding dress boutique based in San Francisco, California. Set up and run by the lovely Brittany and Christy, Daughters of Simone offers a beautiful collection of one-of-a-kind vintage wedding dresses all with a bohemian feel to them.

All of the wedding dresses are vintage by origin, but Brittany and Christy love to look at a gown and see the possibilities it has – many of the gowns are reconstructed to have that contemporary feel to them.

A spring open day and photoshoot to celebrate the new cathedral size wedding yurt from Hooe’s Yurts

The Easter weekend saw a fabulous open day hosted by Hooe’s Yurts in deepest, most beautiful Devon. They were celebrating the completion of their huge new 44ft yurt – a cathedral sized structure that can seat 120 wedding guests, or even linked to smaller yurts to create an even bigger space.
