Vintage wedding dress from Daughters of Simone

Recently I had the pleasure of welcoming Daughters of Simone onto The Natural Wedding Company directory, an online vintage wedding dress boutique based in San Francisco, California. Set up and run by the lovely Brittany and Christy, Daughters of Simone offers a beautiful collection of one-of-a-kind vintage wedding dresses all with a bohemian feel to them.

All of the wedding dresses are vintage by origin, but Brittany and Christy love to look at a gown and see the possibilities it has – many of the gowns are reconstructed to have that contemporary feel to them.

Naturally, I was bursting with excitement to showcase their current collection of wedding dresses and I’m thrilled that readers of The Natural Wedding Company can claim a 10% discount on any purchases made until Sunday 15th July 2012.  Daughters of Simone ship all of over the world, including the UK (our very own TNWC bride Emma bought one of their clutch bags for her wedding).

All the dresses below are currently available from Daughters of Simone, but please note they are one-of-a-kind dresses and therefore once they are sold they are gone, so if you see one you love make sure you order it soon to avoid disappointment.

Here are some of my favourites…

Alma – boho vintage wedding dress with crocheted-lace lines and delicate sleeves

What Brittany says about this dress: “One of our personal favorites, a striking boho white vintage wedding gown. Crocheted-lace lines the sleeves and bust area, skirt expands out like a fan. One of the most beautiful features of this gown are the sleeves, which billow out in the wind. A total one a kind piece, and sure-to-be head turner for the lovely bride that wears it!”

It was by chance that I happened upon the Daughters of Simone website last November and I was enthralled by the array of wonderful dresses they had! Such a refreshing change! Three weeks ago I wore one of their dresses to my own wedding which took place in our garden in Ireland, and for me, the dress was perfect. Brittany and Christy were a complete pleasure to work with as we conversed via email and they answered all my questions about the cut/colour/measurements and they sent additional detailed photographs of the dress. They couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful! When the dress arrived it was beautifully packaged and contained a handwritten note from the girls, a lovely touch! I couldn’t resist returning to their etsy shop to purchase a vintage beaded clutch too!

Hi Fionna, thanks for your lovely message – what incredible service you received from the lovely Brittany and Christy at Daughters of Simone. I imagine it must be quite a leap of faith to order a dress from the other side of the world, but this is a great example of how wonderful an experience it can be. Thanks so much for sharing your experience and I;m sure it will help other brides-to-be. I hope you had a wonderful wedding xXx
