Becoming A Natural Wedding Bride

Please note as of February 2013 I have closed applications for this feature.  However, if you are planning a wedding for 2014 and are interested in being a guest bride blogger later in the year, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at charlie@thenaturalweddingcompany.co.uk.

I thought it was about time I opened up these pages to someone else’s wedding plans, a bride-to-be who’s creating a handmade wedding that fits with my ethos of natural, eco-friendly, seasonal, vintage and homemade.

I get so many emails from creative couples who are crafting wonderful sounding wedding days that I’d like you all to have a voice here too, and to inspire others who are just starting out on this mad wedding journey.

I don’t have a specific number of contributors that I’m looking for, it seemed a bit daft to request a certain number when it’s the first time I’ve tried it, I would just like to open up the invitation for you to get in contact if you’re interested and keen.

So, who am I looking for?

I’m searching for someone planning a wedding in the next year or so (2013 or 2014), who is…

  • Early on in their wedding planning stages
  • Planning a wedding that is all about natural, eco-friendly, seasonal, vintage and homemade touches
  • Happy to write candidly about their wedding planning experiences
  • Able to take pictures of any details they’re making and explain how they made them
  • Happy to write something after their wedding day about how it all turned out

A few extra details

I’m not too specific yet on how often I would like someone to contribute, although at least once a month would be nice, but we can work that out based on each individual.  Although I’m a UK based blog I’m not restricted to UK brides only, so long as your wedding ticks the boxes above I’d love to hear from you too – wherever you are in the world.

How to get in touch and apply

What I’d really love you to do is write me a blog post – a great introduction to who you are and the wedding you’re planning.  So in about 500-1,000 words please…

  • Tell us all about the feel you want for your wedding
  • Tell us about any ideas you have for things you’re going to make and DIY
  • Include your wedding date and location (or your plans for these)
  • Attach a photo of you and your Mr and a bit about how you met
  • If you’ve already made a few handmade details please attach a couple of pictures (no more than 5)
  • I’d also love to know why you’d like to be ‘A Natural Wedding Bride’ and share your experience with my readers

Send your emails to…

Emails should be sent to charlie@thenaturalweddingcompany.co.uk with the subject line A Natural Wedding Bride.  If possible I’d prefer your blog post entry to be attached in a Word document.

The deadline

Please get your email in by Christmas Eve – December 24th 2012 – so that I can read them over the Christmas break.  Any questions please don’t hesitate to leave a comment in the box below or email me.

This is all a bit new to me, but I do hope there’s one or more of you who’d like to get involved!

The above images are all from real weddings that have been featured on The Natural Wedding Company blog – these lovely brides shared their wedding day experiences and I’m looking for more girls like this, but who want to blog about the wedding planning process.  You can find links to each of these weddings below…

HI,

I have been meaning to send you an application to be a ‘Natural Wedding Bride’ since I found out about the invitation but unfortunately have spent the entire xmas break in bed with flu!! I’m only just getting better now! I know you wanted the applications in bt xmas eve but is there any chance that if I sent you a blog entry I’d be in with a chance of you reading it? Our wedding plans fit in sooo perfectly with the ethos of your site and ‘EVERYTHING’ is being handmade or recycled. I’d love to share my plans. I make wedding jewellery myself from recycled and vintage components and will be making all the decorations, my bouquet, button holes, jewellery etc. We plan to marry in July 2014.

Many thanks,

Louisa.
