One of the lovely businesses listed in the directory, Fletcher and Foley, shared with me this beautiful collaborative photoshoot from a group of North West based wedding businesses – just wait ’til you see the flower crown!

Joanne from Fletcher and Foley told me that the day was planned to be “a gorgeous, romantic outdoors shoot” at Sandhole Oak Barn in Cheshire but last minute the vision was changed due to terrible weather – I think they did a fab job and I’m sure you’ll find some inspiration.

It’s very exciting to hear that Sabina Motasem Bride is holding an exclusive showcase of her new collection in Manchester’s Northern Quarter on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2012.

Held at the new Te Amo Bridal Boutique in the heart of Manchester, this will be a wonderful opportunity for brides-to-be to see this gorgeous collection of wedding dresses, which up until now has only been available in London boutiques.

The fabulous fforest wedding venue is holding an open day on Saturday 14th July 2012 for prospective brides- and grooms-to-be to come and see what they have to offer. A wedding at fforest draws on the seasons and natural environment, you get to take over the whole camp, feast on homemade food and spend a weekend relaxing with your family and friends.

Back in February I ran details of a competition from Bright Star Films to win a vintage inspired film of your wedding day – it was lovely to hear a couple of months ago that it was a reader of The Natural Wedding Company that won the competition.

“A homegrown celebration” – our wedding in Country Living magazine

The phone calls and texts started coming in this morning – friends and family were starting to receive their Country Living magazine and we had been spotted! Our post has just arrived and there is our wedding, in print, those gorgeous photos, some full sized (eek!) in a real issue of Country Living.

I still can’t quite believe it and yet I have a copy in my hands. If you are a subscriber to the magazine you’ll be arriving it any time now, if not it’s on sale around the 10th/11th June if you fancy a read.

Quirky and playful illustrated wedding stationery with a mixture of modern designs and old fashioned charm

When I came across the wedding stationery created by illustrator Victoria Whincup I was certain that you would all love to see her designs too. I got in touch with Victoria and she told me that she first started doing wedding invitations when she made them for a friend, and since then hasn’t been able to stop! “I love to hear a customer’s idea and then translate it into a design. I have always drawn and painted, it’s all I’ve ever really wanted to do.”

Victoria uses paint brushes and pencils to create her designs, telling me she believes it gives a much more personal feel to the invites. “I’m a great lover of typography, so all of the text is delicately hand drawn. Colours are also definitely important when it comes to my designs, it’s nice to subtly tie in the colour theme of a wedding, or perhaps the season. Most of the tones I use are quite muted, but I am a fan of a splash of vibrant colour here and there.”

Sarah of Green Photographic recently captured the lovely laid back Easter wedding of Sal and George, who got married near Newquay and included a beach walk with their guests during the afternoon. I have a softspot for Devon and Cornwall, especially during spring time, so I hope you enjoy this pretty country and seaside wedding as much I did.

I am priveledged to live near a vibrant community of small, independent wedding businesses with more and more opportunities to meet with them and experience the products and services they offer. A few weeks ago I got to spend the evening with Nicola from Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe at her new “Made By You” bridal workshop.

We were joined by a group of brides-to-be, two of whom I’d previously met at my 5th birthday party the month before, and another couple I’ve exchanged emails with. Each bride-to-be was there to create a unique bridal accessory that they could wear on their wedding day.

Some of my favourite emails are from you lovely readers, sending me pictures of your wedding stationery that has been inspired by my own wedding invitations or save the dates. Today I get to share with you Hollie’s wedding stationery, which was also inspired by ours, with a few tweaks and her own stamp on it.

She combined our two ideas, turning her wedding invitations into a larger version of our sealed save the dates. I love this idea, I can imagine it would be lovely to receive one of these in the post and to unfold it.

The thing about blogs is you can share all kinds of news in real time, whenever you life. This news, however, has been under wraps for the past 9 months, and Mr Rigg and I haven’t been able to share it with anyone until today. One month from today, our wedding is going to be featured in the July 2012 issue of Country Living magazine!

I’m not even sure where to begin in telling you how excited I am about the whole thing – where do I begin?! I have been an avid Country Living reader since we bought our own house and I always enjoy the beautiful ideas and inspiration that they share, as well as the pieces on small rural businesses. To think that our wedding will now be part of that tradition is so amazing!
