An ethereal harvest photoshoot with a dove grey vintage wedding dress and wildflower bouquet
Charlie

We may grumble about the days getting shorter, the air colder, and the nights darker, but there is something truly magical about this time of year. With a desire to capture some of this beauty, this harvest inspired bridal shoot was dreamt up by photographer Rebecca Douglas and make-up artist Suzanna. It’s got some lovely inspiration for anyone planning an autumn wedding.
“We wanted to capture the pure essence of young love at its most beautiful, in the most stunning of settings – our quintessential Kent countryside. With the cascading colours of late summer call us to capture the moment, what could be more beautiful than to celebrate this montage of golden evening glows with the glory of young love?”
So inspired by the season of billowing dust clouds, spectacular sunsets, sprawling countryside and the arrival of harvest time, Rebecca and Suzanna set about putting together this lovely seasonal photoshoot.
The search started for a dress – they wanted something ethereal and in a relaxed style that complimented the natural beauty of the bride and to stay in tune with the setting. Suzanna stumbled across this stunning vintage 1950s gown in soft dove grey satin – isn’t it just heavenly?
The pretty bouquet is made up of wildflowers that Rebecca and Suzanna gathered from the surrounding fields – the absolute epitome of this countryside shoot.
For her make-up, Suzanna wanted a young and fresh look, so kept it simple with soft golden peach coloured powders to bring out her eyes, and just a dusting of colour on her porcelain cheeks to create a natural flush. Her lips were finished in a nude shade only slightly darker than her own lips, and her hair lightly curled and left to hang loose.
The groom was dressed in a relaxed dark grey suit with navy shirt, to compliment the soft silver shades of the wedding dress and bring a young modern twist to the vintage feel.
I really hope you’ve enjoyed and been inspired by this beautiful photoshoot, and a huge thanks to Rebecca and Suzanna for letting me share it with my readers. I must say that this photoshoot has brought back fond childhood and teenage memories for me, as I’m sure it might for any of you who’ve grown up in the countryside.
