Paper party straws

I know it’s rather late to be posting, but I just wanted to share a few words and pictures on this very exciting night.  Tomorrow is my 5th birthday party – no, not myself, but for The Natural Wedding Company.  If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that during March we celebrated 5 years since the website launched with loads of wonderful offers and competitions, if this is your first visit then welcome!

Spring flowers from Blossom Chorlton

Tomorrow I have 11 lovely guests – all readers of The Natural Wedding Company blog and girls who have used the directory to help plan their wedding.  Some of them are brides-to-be in the midst of planning their weddings, others like myself are recently married – one only just got married yesterday!

Wooden trestle tables
This is us mid-living room preparations this afternoon! Tables borrowed from a local church and 12 chairs from various neighbours

We will be spending a lovely crafternoon with Anna from A Alicia Handmade, munching on lunch and cake from Sarah and Kate who are The Silver Apples, surrounded by beautiful blooms from Blossom, and with the fab Mark Tattersall snapping pictures of everything.

Hedgerow foraging

I can’t blimmin’ wait!

Mr Rigg and I have been busy all day getting our little house ready for this influx of guests, from painting walls and sanding, to doing some last minute DIY crafting.  We’ve even been out foraging in the hedgerows to gather hawthorn and blackthorn blossom to decorate with – I used some of the hawthorn to create this pretty wreath that I’m going to hang from my front door to welcome everyone (details to follow next week on how I made it).

So, if you are one of the lovely 11 (Caroline, Claire, Anna, Faye, Hatty, Claire, Jen, Karen, Kirsty, Lydia and Sarah) I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow, and for the rest of you I can’t wait to share all the photos of what we got up to.  Watch this space!
