Green & Gorgeous blue nigella buttonholes

This week I spotted the lovely floral work of Green and Gorgeous at this beautiful wedding of photographer Caro Hutchings.  It’s always lovely to see the work of businesses listed in The Natural Wedding Company directory, especially at real weddings.

Seasonal wedding bouquet

I love the combination of blues, yellows and greens in these buttonholes and bouquets – I’m really loving this kind of blue colour scheme for wedding flowers at the moment and these are a beautiful example.

Locally grown flowers for bridesmaid posies

It’s also lovely to see a wedding where the bouquets are quite modest, like the bridesmaids bouquets that are more like a delicate posy of a few pretty flowers.  It highlights that you don’t have to g0 mad and have some massive bouquet spilling over with flowers – sometimes less is better.

Green and Gorgeous Flowers

Green and Gorgeous are based in Oxfordshire where they grow traditional garden varieties of flowers and herbs specifically for weddings.  They also run courses on how to arrange with garden flowers – ideal for anyone wanting to get buckets of flowers and do their own weddings flowers.  I did one of their courses last year just before I got married and it was invaluable when it came to feeling confidence about doing the flowers for our wedding.

When I spoke to Caro on Twitter about Green and Gorgeous she told me “I absolutely love that place!  They really did save the wedding – I recommend them to everyone now.”

You should also check out all the photos from Caro’s wedding for lots more beautiful ideas and inspiration.
