Well it has just about been forever since I last shared some wedding cake inspiration here on my Cake Love feature, but I am back with an absolute beauty that I’m convinced you’ll all fall in love with.
This exquisite ‘Summer Meadow’ wedding cake was designed and made by our very own Amy Swann Cakes who you will find listed in the Cakes section of our directory. Amy is a firm favourite of ours with her incredible talent at creating sugar paste flowers that look almost more real than real flowers!
Exquisite ‘Springtime’ and ‘Vintage Dream’ wedding cakes with handcrafted sugar flowers from Amy Swann Cakes
I have a lovely bit of wedding cake inspiration for you today. These stunning cake designs were created by Amy who runs Amy Swann Cakes, and who is also one of our fab recommended suppliers on the directory.
Amy is incredibly talented at creating some of the most realistic and beautiful sugar flowers I’ve ever seen. You might recall this incredible wildflower wedding cake design of Amy’s I featured last autumn, and despite recently welcoming twin baby girls into her family, she has still been busy dreaming up these lovely designs for her clients.
Yesterday I had a pretty full on day working with my sister Izzy to write up some truly beautiful real weddings that will be coming to the blog really soon. At 25 weeks pregnant spending a day working at 100mph is, it seems, not sensible – I was pooped!
So I needed to share a super sweet and make-you-smile kind of wedding cake today, to bring a bit of light relief – especially as it’s Friday as well. I don’t think I could have done better than this pretty floral wedding cake topped with a tiny bench and a pair of love birds.
I believe the entire cake is edible, all the decorations included, made from sugarpaste. Isn’t it stunning! I am so envious of some people’s talents. There is so much attention to detail in this delightful wedding cake, just look at the bride and groom’s initials carefully scribed onto the back of the bench.
It feels like quite a challenge to follow on from last week’s ‘owl and the pussycat’ wedding cake, which was for me a real show-stopper. After umming and aahing about which cake to share this week, I’ve settled on this soft pink, white and gold one.
I really like the unusual gold tier which is a different size and shape to all the others, and those stunning sugarcraft flowers remind us of our very own TNWC business Amy Swann who creates the most stunning sugar flowers. I also like how the gold has been picked out on the sugar leaves.
Couples planning your weddings – I’m so envious of you! I know, I’ve been there, planned and enjoyed an utterly wonderful wedding day (which I wouldn’t change for the world), but I get a tiny bit jealous when I come across all these wonderful new businesses and ideas.
