World Inspired Tents scoop a 2012 Wedding Industry Award

It has been lovely in recent week’s to discover that a number of businesses listed on the directory have won regional awards at the 2012 Wedding Industry Awards. One of those companies is World Inspired Tents who create magical and memorable wedding reception spaces inside their beautiful giant tipis.

Word Inspired Tents were awarded ‘best marquee supplier’ for the South West region in this year’s Wedding Industry Awards, a wonderful accolade. The awards are the first fully independent scheme to officially recognise the very best suppliers in the industry, with companies nominated entirely by their customers.

Unbeknown to the team at World Inspired Tents, one of their Devon brides who used them for her summer wedding had nominated them for the award. Following the nomination, World Inspired Tents had to spread the word asking previous customers to vote for them in order to be short listed. They received a fantastic response, and the votes came flooding in along with personal emails telling the team how their tipis and service had helped to make so many wedding days so special.

Creating a handmade style ‘save the date’ for the uncrafty bride

There has been quite a bit of talk in the wedding blog world about those couples who want a handcrafted feel to their wedding whilst not feeling they are particuarly crafty or creative. For any brides out there feeling like they’re not creative enough, or don’t have the time to be handcrafting wedding stationery, then this stamp (or one like it) could be your answer.

There are lots of businesses offering custom made or personalised stamps, but I thought this design was particularly nice and it gives you more than just your names or address. Stamped in black onto my *favourite recycled brown craft card it would still have that handmade feel. This beautiful stamp (costing under £30) is made by Etsy seller Love To Create Stamps who are based in Florida but ship worldwide.

Etsy is a treasure-trove of wonderful goodies, I can’t tell you how much I love it. I spotted these tiny floating candles, made from beeswax filled acorn caps, and just thought they would be beautiful for an autumn wedding.

In bowls of water, perhaps like below with addition of colourful autumn leaves, they would look simply stunning on your reception tables. What a genius idea they are – what do you think? They’d go really well with this idea for place cards made from oak leaves.

If you’re planning a winter wedding for 2012 and you fancy something quite earthy and in tune with the natural world, then this gorgeous hair garland of wax flowers and ivy would fit in wonderfully. Whether it was worn by your bridesmaids, or yourself (I could only dream of being gutsy enough to pull it off), it would certainly add to that ‘mid-winter’ feel.

Timeless autumn wedding in Lithuania

You might well have spied this stunning autumn wedding from Lithuania out on the web already, but when I saw it I just knew that it was the kind of wedding that you’d love to see – so I got in touch with photographer Svetlana Batura to ask if I might share it.

For me this beautiful Lithuanian wedding is one of those timeless weddings that just melts my heart – it has a few exquisite season-inspired details, a couple very much in love, and other than that it makes the most of the landscape and time of year in which it takes place.
