I hope you are all enjoying following along with my TNWC South West Roadtrip – I’m only three days and loving it. It has been such a pleasure and a real treat to visit these wedding businesses and find out more about who they are and what they do. I can quite honestly say there are some real gems out there for anyone planning their wedding, so get looking through the directory to find some fabulous suppliers.
After a rather busy Day 2 of the TNWC Roadtrip, yesterday was a bit more relaxed with just one visit scheduled for the day. Like Day 2 I was joined by a TNWC wedding photographer, this time is was Lucy Turnbull, whose photos these are. I momentarily got lost down a very narrow high-hedged Cornish lane, but soon realised my mistake and found the very beautiful Lantallack Weddings.
Lantallack Weddings is a family-run wedding venue, which is also home to Nicky and Andrew who opened their doors for weddings five years ago and still love welcoming couples in to spend this very special day at what is a very special place.
When you first arrive at Lantallack Weddings you are just blown away by the setting and the views out and across rolling farm land and beautiful countryside. Today the fields across from Lantallack Weddings are just awash with yellow buttercups, and Nicky told us that just a couple of weeks ago their apple orchard was bursting with blossom.
Speaking to owner Nicky and her daughter Lucy, they told me that the kind of couples attracted to Lantallack Weddings are those wanting a relaxed wedding day, and it is clear from a wander around the grounds why that is. There all kinds of garden areas for drinks or canapés and a multitude of romantic spots for photos.
Lantallack Weddings has a choice of two licensed areas for wedding ceremonies: the first is a gorgeous rustic Cart Barn with hay bale seating and lots of beams to hang flower garlands, bunting or or other decorations from. The second is Wisteria Walk, a pretty covered walkway draped in purple wisteria and clematis blooms that overlooks a pond and the valley beyond.
The attention to detail at Lantallack Weddings extends from beautiful flowers borders and fairy lights strung in the trees, to a field for car parking complete with a tree-lined walkway down to your wedding reception, and lit areas at night. They really seem to have thought of everything to ensure your wedding day goes as smoothly and relaxed as possible.
At Lantallack Weddings there is a gravel area where you can set up your marquee which looks out across the Cornish countryside. They are also introducing a new package for couples wanting a smaller wedding (up to 30) without all the extra trimmings of a marquee and so on. Perfect for elopements!
They also have a range of accommodation, both in the main house, separate cottages, and the very romantic Polly’s Bower, which is the bridal suite. Another little extra that you could consider is serving Lantallack apple juice to your guests, made from apples from their own orchard (which also look like the most beautiful spot to have your photos taken).
What you can be assured of at Lantallack Weddings, in fact all of the wedding venues I’ve visited so far, is a warm and hospitable welcome. So if you’re considering any of these beautiful places for your wedding, get in touch with them and look at organising a visit so you can see for yourself just how they could work for your dream wedding day.
Thank you so much to Nicky, Andrew and Lucy for welcoming me to Lantallack Weddings and showing me around, and to Lucy Turnbull who joined me for the visit.
Where I’m Going Today…
So today I am driving further along the coast into Cornwall to just near Fowey to meet The Garden Gate Flower Company. Not only to I get to meet them, but I get to spend most of the day with them playing with flowers. Hopefully the lovely Becca and Maz from The Garden Gate Flower Company will be creating some pretty hair flowers and provided the weather holds out we will have Taylor & Porter Photographs there to capture these designs.
I’m super excited about today and can’t wait to share all the details with you!
Remember you can follow along during the day via Twitter and Instagram, I’m using the hashtag #TNWCRoadtrip, and I hope to post a few pictures on Facebook at the end of the day.

A lovely lovely afternoon (apart from the pesky weather. Grrr!) with very lovely people at an incredibly chilled place 🙂
I very much hope to shoot a wedding there one day
