Beach Weddings Bournemouth natural beach wedding venue

There’s been a bit of a media hubub about this latest wedding venue that I get to introduce you to, but no wonder – they are the first licensed wedding venue in the UK to allow beach weddings! Beach Weddings Bournemouth is a very exciting new wedding venue, allowing you to get married on the beach, and for the first time legally.

Never, ever before this could you legally marry on a beach in the UK, but Beach Weddings Bournemouth have changed all that.  Imagine a beautiful and natural wedding, where you don’t need to fuss about decorating the venue when you have a stunning seascape with waves lapping at the shore and a sandy beach stretching out before you.

Their gorgeous little ivory painted beach hut sits right on the sands of Bournemouth’s award winning West Cliff Beach.  Beach Weddings Bournemouth offer all kinds of options, from just having your wedding ceremony on the beach, to including a drinks and canape reception or even your wedding meal in their beach marquee.

There is a large decked area off the wedding hut where you’ll find a locally made driftwood arch, beneath which you’ll exchange your wedding vows.  The wedding hut is decorated with local coastal finds and has a window looking out over the sea that floods the space with natural light.

Doesn’t it just sound incredible!  I love that there are ever-more increasingly wonderful options for weddings in the UK, and to be able to have a beach wedding is one of those dreams I imagine a lot of couples have.  It’s nice to think you don’t have to get on a plane or compromise who you can invite because you are jetting to the other side of the world for a beach wedding.

ooh that’s so pretty! It’s great to see more options opening up in the UK. Loving the stripey table cloths in that marquee too.

This is only true for England and Wales – after changes in the law, it’s been possible to marry almost anywhere in Scotland (including on beaches) for several years now. Oh, and I just found out last night that you can legally be married in a pagan wedding in Scotland!

I wish England and Wales would catch up, I find the lack of choice down here infuriating, not all of us want to get married in country houses!

Thanks for that Kirsty, I agree and wish that England and Wales would catch up and allow people to marry in meaningful places xXx
