Pippins is a romantic self-catering cottage set amongst the lavender fields and vineyards in Hungary.  This pretty honeymoon bolthole has whitewashed wooden clad walls, a private terrace and pool, and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside.

The cottage is set out in an open-plan style with a separate bathroom, and in the winter months you can snuggle up in front of a crackling woodstove.  In the summer Pippins runs 95% on energy produced by the PV panels located on the cottage roof, and in winter its heating and hot water are produced by the log fire.

Outside you’ll find a pool with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside and and outdoor shower.  The terrace is the ideal place to while away an afternoon or for a romantic BBQ in the evening whilst the scent of lavender wafts across the fields.

Pippins is set on a privately owned vineyard estate with lots of pretty countryside to explore, but is only an hour away from Budapest if you wanted a city excursion.  This view is enough to get me packing my bags…

As well as the beautiful countryside and views outside, inside the cottage is filled with pretty details and beautiful furniture in a fresh shabby chic style.  It is the ideal restful place to unwind after your wedding, with several local eateries nearby and breakfast hampers with freshly baked bread and homemade jams available.

The cottage also has some stunning features, such as this exquisitely painted furniture and other unusual artifacts.  Perhaps you could find something similar to take home?  Maybe your husband-to-be is more tolerant than mine when it comes to collecting ‘finds’ abroad!
