I am really excited to share these photos with you – they are the first official engagement photos to be shown on the blog and aren’t they beautiful!

The bride- and grooom-to-be, Ashley and Nate, wanted to create a unique ‘save the date’ announcement that they could send out to their guests.  They are planning a rustic barn wedding so wanted to create a similar rural country feel to their engagement photos.

Together with their photographer Heather Parker, they headed out to the stunning 250 acre Brooksby Farm, just north of Boston, USA.  Heather told me that this beautiful spot is full of footpaths and trails that wind through ancient houses, past huge red barns, and through 65 acres of orchards.  Doesn’t it sound idyllic?

They used a salvaged antique window for the ‘save the date’ reminder – painting their wedding date onto the glass window panes.  What a fun idea and lovely to see something once forgotten brought back to life.

Ashley and Nate also own a vintage Ford pickup truck and a very sweet dog that they used for their photographs.  I love the combination of the rustic DIY elements, that beautiful lace dress, and a setting that has so much character and charm.  And that sparkly red bracelet.

What I love about these photos is that they really seem to reflect the couple, they look ‘at home’ in the setting and that is so refreshing.  No over the top props, just two people clearly in love with a few pretty details.

A huge thank you to Ashley and Nate, and Heather Parker the photographer for letting me share these photographs, and all our best wishes for your upcoming wedding.
