The lovely Heather from Star House got in touch and after looking at her pretty alternatives to wedding cake toppers I knew I had to share them.

Forget the cheesy plastic figurines and instead go for one of Heather’s that’s been lovingly handmade in wood…

Heather started designing and making cake toppers after she received a number of customer requests – previously she focused on “little folks for little folk”.

Now the majority of Heather’s work is designing likenesses and love bird cake toppers for discerning brides-and-grooms-to-be.

To create these beautiful creations Heather sources wood from friends who selectively log their land and beeswax from a local organic farm.

She uses non-toxic liquid water colours to paint with and organic jojoba oil along with the beeswax to finish them.

For Heather, creating something that represents the union and committment of two people is a true honour: “I love that I get to think about folks that I am making the toppers for and send wishes and blessings.”

Heather loves collaborating and co-creating her cake toppers and is excited to offer custom designs that you can have an input into.
