So as I mentioned previously Mr Rigg and I went down south to kick-start our wedding planning.  We went to the Beautiful World Tents open day in Horsham, West Sussex.  Beautiful World Tents provide a gorgeous range of big and small tipis for wedding receptions and events.

Ever since I first saw images of these tents a couple of years ago when researching for the Directory, I fell in love with them.  Now that Mr Rigg and I are starting to think about our own wedding, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go and view these tents.

Sadly, the day we went was some of the worst weather ever – a howling wind that rattled the poles holding the tipis up and horizontal rain.  In all their time setting up the giant tipis,  they had never seen weather so bad.  The day was pretty much cancelled as it was too dangerous to go inside the tipis.

Having travelled all the way from Cheshire, Mr Rigg and I weren’t about to leave without seeing as much as we could of the tents and speaking to Jo, the director, about all the different options and costs.

As if by some miracle, just before we left the wind died down and the rain stopped, the sun came out and we were able to go into the full set-up of tipis and get a proper look and feel for them.

On the way home we also stopped off in Berkshire to see The Stunning Tents Company, who offer the same giant tipis and are the original importers of these stunning tents, which come from Sweden.

I left the south feeling totally wowed by the giant tipis and confident that they would make a stunning wedding reception venue.

Hi there, I’ve just found your blog & thought you might like to know about us.
We supply the same giant teepees as BWT & ST but are based in the north, not far from you in York.

We regularly provide our lovely tents for events in and around Cheshire, and cover the north & midlands of England, Wales, and have recently been in the far north of Scotland!!

The bad news is that we held out autumn open-day just 3 weeks ago, a shame we couldn’t have saved you a trek down south – I’ll let you know the dates of our spring open-day once we’ve confirmed them.

Very best wishes & it’s good to know there’s a like minded company in this neck of the woods!

My daughter and her fiance are interested in having a Tipi for their wedding but we are struggling to find a suitable venue. Can anyone suggest please? Looking for Beds/Bucks/Herts/Essex or London venues.

Thank you

[…] considering a giant teepee for your wedding, I’d definitely recommend a visit – Mr Rigg and I went to see the giant teepees set up last autumn in Sussex and you really get a feel for the atmosphere you can create inside […]

I feel really gutted that I can’t afford to have my wedding reception in a tipi! They look amazing and my partner and I really can’t find anything we like other than old barns and tipis!

Hi J, we looked at giant tipis for our wedding too and sadly there were out of our price range too – they really are stunning. Where abouts are you getting married? What other ideas do you have for alternatives? X
