Friendly and informal wedding photography captured in a natural way
Who are we...
Hi there, I’m Emma and I love to photograph creative and non-traditional weddings. My approach is friendly and informal, which is key to capturing gorgeous, natural photos of your friends and family.
Emma Stoner Photography
I started shooting weddings in 2011 and have photographed a truly eclectic mix of celebrations… everything from muddy farm weddings and festival themed gatherings to iconic London hotels. Outdoor weddings are a favourite of mine and anything with a bit of shabby chic and rustic charm!
My background is photojournalism so I take a storytelling approach to each wedding, capturing all of those special moments – the textures, colours, emotions and details which tell the story of your day.
Many of my couples comment on how well I blend in with their friends and family and I often feel like I am with old friends! I love meeting new people and if you like the free-spirited, nature inspired feel of my work then I am sure we will get on 🙂
I’ve always had a passion for the environment and green issues. I worked in the photo-department at Greenpeace for over three years in Europe, India (where I lived for one year) and London. My photo assignments covered everything from climate change to intensive farming.
Alongside these assignments I shot projects myself, documenting eco-communities and, most recently I photographed flooding in Somerset. The photos and stories from affected farmers were used by Friends of the Earth as part of their climate campaign. I still regularly work for regularly for charities and maintain a green ethos with my wedding photography services.
The albums and frames which I offer are all eco-friendly and handmade in the UK. My printing is done on acid free paper and my print and frame suppliers are local to me in Devon. For weddings further afield, it is useful to know that I drive a Ford KA which emits less than 120g/km of CO2.
“Emma is a star. My wife Amy and I put our hearts and souls into our wedding, and capturing all the love, smiles, emotion and fun was Emma – who from our first Skype call (we started planning in Germany) was passionate, reassuringly understanding of the look and feel of the day, and always professional. Our day was amazing, and so are the beautiful images that Emma skilfully and carefully took– meaning we could relax safe in the knowledge that we’d have not only the main parts, but all the little touches that made the day so special, to enjoy forever. We’re both over the moon with our photos and the service.” – Amy and Chris
“Emma was brilliant from start to finish. Before the wedding we chatted at length so Emma could get to know us and find out exactly what we wanted. She also researched our venue and the beach location where we were having our ceremony so she could scout out the best spots for photos. As someone who doesn’t like having my photo taken or photos that look contrived and posed Emma exceeded our expectations by making us feel comfortable and producing gorgeous, natural photos that my family and I will treasure forever.” – Verity and Martin
“Emma is an incredibly talented photographer who truly captured the joy of our wedding day. We were really keen to find a photographer who would not interrupt the flow of the day; Emma’s reportage style and eye for a shot in the moment, combined with her ability to work unobtrusively, has resulted in a selection of photos that really tell the story of the event but that also allowed us to enjoy the experience.” – Sophia and Oli
