Hi, I’m Dorina, and my team and I love connecting with like-minded couples to plan their big day. Through thoughtful planning and a dedicated approach, my aim is to truly understand you and your vision to create something unforgettable for your wedding day.
Dorothy Seed is an eco-conscious floral designer with a deep passion for the natural world, artful floral design, the beauty of the changing seasons, and all things botanical.
I’ve always had a keen interest in plants and nature. Coming from an educational background, I spent time teaching children about the natural world through forest school sessions. This and my love of garden design inspired me to complete a horticulture course with the RHS at the Bristol Botanic Garden, which then led me to study sustainable floristry at The Bath Flower School. Shortly after, we started Dorothy Seed and since then, we’ve had the pleasure of helping many couples create the most incredible memories.
The planning process is a unique journey, just as important as the wedding day itself. Our approach is personable and friendly, paired with a style that is effortless and ethereal, sparking imagination and evoking curiosity. We design florals with intention, reflecting what we’ve learned about our couples and what we feel represents them best. Our designs are fun, meaningful and full of impact, all while being mindful of our planet.
When designing, I focus on including as many British-grown flowers as possible, supplemented with additional blooms when needed, all arranged using sustainable mechanics like chicken wire, moss, and water. I love to add unexpected elements, interesting flowers and celebrate their colour, scent and unique features.
Being part of each celebration is an absolute joy. Helping you feel at ease and enjoy the planning journey is something I deeply value. My goal is to create an experience and memories that you’ll cherish as you begin your future together.
At Dorothy Seed, we believe that reducing our ecological impact is a responsibility we take seriously. We are committed to helping our clients minimise their carbon footprint by embracing eco-friendly practices. Wherever possible, we have implemented sustainable methods that align with our ethos, allowing nature to thrive while creating stunning floral designs.
- We avoid single-use plastics and floral foam, relying solely on sustainable mechanics such as compostable or reusable materials.
- Whenever possible, we prioritise British-grown flowers, complemented by ethically sourced imported blooms.
- Only natural plant materials are used, with no chemically dyed, bleached or painted products.
- Natural dried flowers are incorporated to extend their life cycle and reduce waste.
- Any flowers still in good condition are donated to charitable causes, spreading joy and reducing waste.
- All green waste is separated and responsibly recycled.
- Eco-friendly cleaning products are used throughout our process, and we embrace compostable, recyclable or reusable packaging, guided by a minimalist, waste-conscious approach.
- Our website is hosted on green energy.
- To celebrate each couple’s marriage, we plant a native tree with The National Forest, giving back to nature.
