Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe Hen Parties
Vintage inspired crafty hen parties with a sustainable ethos
Who are we...
Hi, I’m Nicola and I create wedding headpieces, veils, finishing touches and gifts, and Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe Hen Parties. I delight in old traditions and ensure that they are reflected in little thoughtful touches in my designs.
Hen Party – Craft Classes
If you are the organiser of a hen party and have been feeling the pressure to make this the best party ever, then relax. All the inspiration and info you need to create a memorable and hugely enjoyable experience for everyone is right here.
At my Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe hen parties you will each make a headpiece to take home, or you can opt for brooches, corsages or buttonholes. To help you and your guests decide on which style of headpiece you wish to make, I bring along a wide range of beautiful sample pieces, inspired by a variety of eras, trends and styles for you to try before we begin. There is always something to suit all tastes.
My hen parties can be modified to suit your numbers and the skills and experience of your group. Regardless of your group size, every member of your group will receive the attention and assistance required to complete their piece to their satisfaction. It is my job to make sure you are given the level of help needed.
The hen parties last for around 2 hours, and are fully mobile so I can travel to your party venue (or can suggest venues). Prices start from £35 per head.
FAQs
Can we make something other than headpieces?
Yes! In the past brides have made their veils, garters and everlasting buttonholes for bridesmaids and guests.
Can men and children attend?
Yes! I recommend children aged 11 and over.
It is really important to me to be as sustainable as I possibly can with my work and to be transparent about this. My business was started on the basis of making keepsake items using vintage jewellery and lace to make one off pieces by me at home alone, probably the ultimate in sustainable.
My hen parties are a very sustainable activity because I use old jewellery that we upcycle, fabric remnants, and leftover pieces.
