The Wedding You Actually Want (£29)

A decision-making companion for couples who want their wedding to reflect who they actually are

Wedding planning often starts with excitement, then suddenly there are opinions, timelines, working out a budget, traditions, trends, and advice from every direction.

Before long, you’re making decisions about flowers, guest lists, outfits and venues before you’ve had a chance to ask a much simpler question:

What do we actually want?

Not what weddings are supposed to look like.

Not what social media suggests.

Not what other people expect.

What feels meaningful to you.

A different kind of wedding guide

This isn’t a guide filled with checklists, timelines, or rules.

It’s a place to pause.

A companion for the moments when you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or pulled in too many directions.

The moments when you’re wondering:

  • Do we actually want this?
  • Why are we spending money on that?
  • Are we making this decision because it matters to us, or because it feels expected?
  • Is there another way we could do this?

Inside you’ll find thoughtful reflection prompts, practical questions, and ideas for how to make each element your own, all designed to help you make decisions that feel aligned with your values, priorities, budget, and relationship.

Not somebody else’s version of a wedding. Yours.

What’s inside?

The guide covers 40 different elements of wedding planning, including:

  • Guest lists
  • Wedding rings
  • Outfits
  • Flowers
  • Food and drink
  • Photography
  • Invitations
  • Décor
  • Entertainment
  • Honeymoons

and much more.

It’s more of a recipe book – something you can dip in and out of, going straight to the section you need for some guidance.

Each section includes:

A reflection prompt

A question designed to help you pause and reconnect with what really matters before making decisions.

Questions to help you decide

Simple prompts to help you explore your options with more clarity and confidence.

Ways to make this your own

Ideas and possibilities that help you think beyond the default wedding script and discover options that may suit you better.

Dip into the sections you need.

Skip the ones you don’t.

Return whenever you find yourselves stuck.

Who is this for?

This guide is for couples who want their wedding to feel meaningful, intentional, and true to them.

Couples who sometimes look at the wedding industry and think:

“Why does this all feel so much?”

Couples who care about sustainability, but don’t want sustainability to become another source of pressure or perfectionism.

Couples who want to spend thoughtfully.

Celebrate joyfully.

And make decisions with confidence.

You can use it if you’re newly engaged, or if you’re in the middle of planning.

What might change?

The goal isn’t to steer you towards a particular type of wedding – the goal is to help you create a wedding that feels like yours.

One where your choices come from intention rather than expectation.

One where you can recognise yourselves in what you’ve created.

So you may not end up with a smaller wedding, a simpler wedding, or a more sustainable wedding, because that’s not the point.

My hope is that one-day, months from now, you might sit over tea, and say:

“That question changed how we thought about our wedding.”

Why I created this

After two decades in weddings, one thing I’ve noticed is that couples are often asked to make hundreds of decisions before they’ve had a chance to work out what really matters to them.

That’s what inspired this guide.

I wanted to create something that gave couples a chance to pause, to step back from the noise, to reconnect with themselves, and to make decisions from a place of clarity rather than pressure.

Because when couples do that, the wedding often becomes more meaningful, more enjoyable, and surprisingly often, more sustainable too.
