Beth and Robert’s spring Devon farm wedding with foraged wildflowers, yurts and a feast of local food
Beth and Robert’s spring Devon farm wedding is overflowing with many of my wedding “favourites”. Favourites such as…getting married in May, spring wildflowers, and yurts. Captured by our friend Jennie Hill Photography, this down-to-earth wedding is a real family affair, with a sprinkling of handmade details and pretty touches.
Although the wedding was held at the family farm in Devon, it is dotted with elements that share the couples love of Scotland. As we sit here in March with hints of warmer weather and spring flowers starting to bloom, I’m certain this spring Devon farm wedding is going to get you dreaming of spring.
Poppy and Mark’s colourful meadow festival wedding with outdoor ceremony, hay bale seating and bridesmaids in yellow maxi skirts
Poppy and Mark’s colourful meadow festival wedding in Wales is not only full of inspiration and pretty details, but it just oozes love and fun. It’s a beautiful example of a British summer wedding at it’s best, with hay bale seating, sunflower yellow bridesmaid dresses, and romantic meadow photos.
This wedding was captured by Michael and Andrea of Bohemian Weddings, one of our recommended wedding photographers. If you’re on the hunt for photographers for your 2017 wedding, you could win your wedding photography with Bohemian Weddings this month via our blog – full details here on how to enter.
Here’s what Poppy and Mark said about them…
“We met our wonderful photographers, Michael and Andrea of Bohemian Weddings, at a friend’s wedding the previous year (Lizzy and Graeme had found them by contacting The Natural Wedding Company after being let down last minute).
We wanted to capture the feel of the day rather than have hours of posed photographs, and as we’d seen them previously we knew they would be perfect. It felt like having friends take our photos rather than official photographers, and their friendliness and ease spread to all the guests throughout the day.”
Over to Poppy to tell us more about their colourful meadow festival wedding…
Claire and George’s country farm wedding with tractor transport, hay bale seating and pink floral bridesmaids dresses
Our Valentine’s Day Real Wedding for 2017 is just gorgeous. You’re certain to love the couple and their particularly personal country farm wedding, and I’m sure your heart will melt when you see the photographs of their little boy giving a speech at the reception. Adorable.
Groom George is from an agricultural background and as such, the couple decided that there was only one way they could plan their big day. Tractors, bunting, hay bales, a tractor wheel seating plan, straw dollies and wellies filled with flowers.
Bride Claire got in touch to share their day with us after being inspired by our site so I’ll hand over to her to give us the details…
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you’ll know that the past 24 hours have been challenging – I’m not ready to share any details yet but will do soon. That combined with a busy morning learning the finer details of my soon-to-be re-launched website and I haven’t had much time to blog well today.
However, I felt that posting a picture that made me smile and feel happy would be a positive way to end the day. I recently had a bride enquiring about vintage tandems for a wedding get-away, and after much research it seems they are pretty difficult to come by.
One company that hires out old bikes told me “Many a tandem has caused a divorce”. Sound advice perhaps?
Anyway, I think that having a bike each to ride away from your wedding is just as lovely an idea – especially if you can get hold of quirky, old or vintage bikes as they come in such lovely styles. So, not only does the above image bring a smile to my face on an otherwise gloomy 24 hours, but I love this bride and groom’s wedding transport – and the tin cans tied on to the back of the bikes is pure genius!
These beautiful photographs are from this lovely eco-friendly Sydney wedding. If anyone wants more details on hiring old bikes for weddings I have a few websites I can share.
