Real wood wedding invitations engraved with a bird on a branch

How incredible are these invitations – made of very thin real wood they are then engraved with a personalised message. This one in particular I liked with the tiny bird on a branch, and thought they would make lovely wedding invitations if you had the budget and wanted something really unusual and special.

They are made (I believe) in the Netherlands but can be shipped anywhere in the world, and new trees are planted when one is cut. Take a look at their Etsy shop for more designs and details.

This was love at first – the moment I spotted these masks from A Alicia Handmade I was smitten and head-over-heels in love. Aren’t they just gorgeous?

The joys of having a photographer husband-to-be! If you’re the lovely Lisa, one of my blog readers, it means you can make pretty wedding details and get great pictures of them – which in turn means lovely photos to share with you all.

Lisa was inspired by my own rustic ‘save the dates’ and got in touch to share hers – I think they are so beautiful and they incorporate a really neat extra that Lisa found on this blog whilst searching for inspiration – a twine knot.

Welcome to my newest soon-to-be regular blog post showcasing the businesses featured on The Natural Wedding Company directory. There are so many wonderful businesses offering products or services to help you make your wedding day natural, eco-friendly, seasonal, handmade or vintage-inspired that I thought it was about time I started regularly sharing details of what you can find.

Beautiful favours and crafty supplies for the creative bride

It was lovely this afternoon to discover that one of the newest businesses to join the directory has featured The Natural Wedding Company on their blog. The delightful Wedding in a Teacup can be found in our Stationery, Details and DIY sections and is a treasure trove of beautiful things for the creative bride. Lots of their products are sourced ethically or eco-friendly, so a perfect match for the directory.

Acorn cap floating beeswax candles for an autumn wedding

Etsy is a treasure-trove of wonderful goodies, I can’t tell you how much I love it. I spotted these tiny floating candles, made from beeswax filled acorn caps, and just thought they would be beautiful for an autumn wedding.

In bowls of water, perhaps like below with addition of colourful autumn leaves, they would look simply stunning on your reception tables. What a genius idea they are – what do you think? They’d go really well with this idea for place cards made from oak leaves.

Eco-friendly vintage teacup candles for an afternoon tea wedding

These pretty vintage teacup candles are made by one of the newest additions to the directory – For The Love Of Vintage. As well as hiring out gorgeous vintage crockery for weddings and parties, Sharon also sells a pretty collection of vintage teacup candles (they also come in sugar bowls and sundae glasses) and tiered cake stands made from recycled vintage plates.

Cute eco-friendly notebooks for an organised bride

These cute little notebooks from Yield Ink are handprinted onto recycled card notebooks and come packaged in this sweet calico drawstring bag. I think they would be great for an organised bride planning her wedding, or a not-so-organsied bride that wanted to be more organised.

During my wedding planning I was always coming up with ideas on what we could do, or another item for another list, and we ended up with so many pieces of paper floating around we had to stick them in a rather ugly binder. A little bag of these would have been much nicer.

An eco-chic engagement shoot inspired by 1950s jazz icons

The last couple of weeks have seen some wonderful and exciting emails pop into my inbox, and this eco-chic engagement shoot organised by ethical wedding consultant Clarisse Elysée, was one of those beautiful ones.

Recently engaged, Kimberley and Troy were inspired by 1950s jazz icon’s such as Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, and although a little daunted to start with soon embraced the theme and relaxed into the photoshoot.
