A Day in the Life of Bride and Bloom: crafting wedding flowers from Worcestershire fields to beautiful seasonal bouquets

I am always so delighted when our flower farmers get in touch to say they have a set of A Day in the Life photos to share with our readers. Bride and Bloom are one of our newest additions to our eco wedding directory, and whilst I do get to visit a number of our recommended suppliers, it’s always nice to find out more in these kind of features.

What I particularly love about today’s feature, is that fellow mum and flower farmer Hannah, had her little girl along to help her pick flowers for the wedding.

Clematis has been popping up in bouquets all across the wedding world, and I love it’s inclusion. It’s delicate and dainty and has a beautiful soft movement to it.
To ensure the clematis is British grown and seasonal book one of our flower farmers or florists to do your wedding flowers, they are knowledagble and will be able to advise you on when it’s in season.
The other thing I really love about this bouquet are the many different purple ribbons, all left long and trailing. TNWC recommended supplier Lancaster & Cornish have a beautiful selection of organic lace that would look lovely tied round a bridal bouquet, or I recently came across these exquisite plant dyed ribbons from Silk & Willow in the US.

When I was looking for today’s Cake Love inspiration, it was this cake that caught my attention first. Why should wedding cake’s always have to be big?
This one is mini, yet perfectly formed in my books. There’s not much I don’t love about it – I love the idea of having a tiny tiered wedding cake to cut into (just enough to share between you and your groom I say!), I love the old gold colouring and the tiny beads of icing.
I also love the garden flowers that have been chosen to decorate it, in a very understated manner – it’s almost like the cake version of a delicate and pretty vintage teacup. Topped with a big blousy pink Peony and clematis vines and flowers entwined around it, and finally a dainty rose laid at the side.
