It has been a long time since the last green or eco wedding fair was held in the UK, so I am utterly delighted to be sharing details of an upcoming one being hosted by one of our TNWC wedding venues – Riverstation in Bristol. This is the first Eco Wedding Fair to be held in the South West and looks set to showcase some fantastic regional businesses.
Organised by Riverstation’s wedding co-ordinator, Michele Jetzer (who scooped UK’s Best Wedding Co-ordinator at the 2012 Wedding Industry Awards) the Eco Wedding Fair will bring together an exciting range of likeminded exhibitors – from organic cakes to alternative transport providers, and vintage crockery hire to florists growing their own blooms.

The Eco Wedding Fair also promises fashion shows and handmade workshops for brides to get creative and make anything from flower buttonholes to wedding favours. I’ve also been told there’s going to be goody bags for the first 100 brides to pre-register online (details below).
As if the list of fabulous exhibitors below isn’t enough to tempt you to come along (did I mention it’s free entry!), you can also come and say hi to me – yes, The Natural Wedding Company is packing its bags and heading south for the weekend. I am currently dreaming up my stall so I’d love to meet you if you’re going.
If you are coming along, do let me know by leaving a comment below or on my Facebook wall, or Tweeting me.

If you’d like to find out more about some of the exhibitors coming to the Eco Wedding Fair, be sure to check out the News section on their website as it’s full of interviews with the businesses, including The Natural Wedding Company (aka: me!).

Riverstation is an environmentally conscious wedding venue and restaurant on the Bristol harbourside. Just some of the eco-conscious steps they’ve taken include having their own beehive on their green roof; bottling their own filtered water; planting trees in the restaurants orchard and making apple juice and elderflower syrup from these; using seasonal produce, biodegradable bar sundries, flowers and local suppliers; and recycling their cooking oil, cardboard, paper and glass.

This looks like a fab wedding fair. If it was closer to London, I would have certainly popped by or even exhibited!
