Who are we...
I have always been passionate about sourcing my materials since then. Living by the sea inspires my designs, I try to incorporate the natural beauty of the coastline within my work, to make mini sculptures that are wearable and speak of our environment.
April Doubleday’s Fairmined Gold and ethical engagement rings and ethical wedding rings reflect a contemporary and unique style that is inspired by the Devon sea and coastline. All April’s jewellery is made bespoke for you using materials that are ethically mined, sourced or recycled. The gold is mined in accordance with the standards set by ARM (Alliance for Responsible Mining) who promoting artisanal and small scale mining, and her diamonds are from Canada and Australia.
April is a British ethical designer/maker of contemporary jewellery, living on the North Coast of Devon. She uses the coastline, rock formations and the sea as inspiration for her designs.

Based in North Devon I was one of the first Jewellers to become Fairtrade/Fairmined. I am now certified Fairmined. All the gold that I use is mined in accordance with the standards set by ARM (Alliance for Responsible Mining) who promoting artisanal and small scale mining.
I am also a supporter and sponsor the Jeweltree foundation since its inception in 2008, Jeweltree is committed to providing a traceable diamond product, with a Jeweltree certificate you can find out where your diamond was mined and under which conditions it was polished. All stones are sourced wherever possible.
I also use recycled metals or recycle as much as possible myself by using your very own metal put back into my designs.
April was a joy to work with and created two stunning bespoke rings – one in green gold, the other with precious stones – which we are absolutely thrilled with and which were very much admired by our friends and relations. We discovered April by reading an article about her work in the Exmoor magazine and were intrigued and excited about the possibility of having our wedding rings made by an ethical jeweller. We met April several times during the design and creation process and were struck not only by her enthusiasm and skill as a jeweller but also by her depth of knowledge. – Howard and Paul Davenport
