It’s been a little quiet on the blog the past couple of weeks as I’ve been away on holiday with my little family to France. We’re getting stuck back in with a lovely bee related blog post from TNWC Real Bride Miriam – it’s so great to hear how Miriam and John are incorporating meaningful elements into their that have such importance to the both of them. Over to Miriam to tell you more… Bee Happy – Love is Sweet The natural world is very important to both John and I, and we hope to capture the magic of the […]

Rustic coastal farm wedding In the past few years of running my business I have been lucky enough to meet and make some lovely friends, many of whom I know will be lifelong friends. I met Nik, today’s bride, two years ago, when she won a place on a cut flower course via the blog and we spent a day together learning how to grow and arrange homegrown flowers. Since then I’ve followed Nik’s adventures as she has moved to Wales and set up her own business, and last summer when I was heavily pregnant I saw her again when […]

Relaxed Scottish wedding with a beach picnic A real wedding feature has been long overdue, and what nicer way to kick off 2014 than with the exquisite wedding of Jo and Dom. They got married last July in Scotland with a ceremony in a ruin chapel amongst the dunes, a beach picnic for all their guests, swimming in the sea, foraged and wild flowers for the bouquets and table arrangements, and a beautifully decorated tent – phew! I could go on and on and on about everything that I love about this wedding, but it’s better than I just let […]

What a lovely day I had yesterday, despite the most miserable drizzly weather in Cornwall.  I spent the whole day at The Garden Gate Flower Company (who are based just outside Fowey) with Becca and Maz, generally having a lot of fun with their beautiful flowers. Our plan was to spend the day creating beautiful wedding hair flowers with the aim to inspire brides-to-be who want to wear flowers in their hair, but don’t feel the big, bold, statement flower crowns are ‘them’. In the afternoon we were joined by Louise and Teo from Taylor & Porter Photographs, the loveliest […]

English picnic wedding I have got some truly lovely exclusive real weddings coming up for you on the blog, so I do hope you’ll check back over the coming weeks to soak up all the wonderful inspiration these brides and grooms have to share. Today’s real wedding is beautiful.  I feel like I’ve got to know bride Holly over the past year or so as she emailed me a couple of times in the lead up to her wedding – not only was she inspired by my own wedding stationery, but she also won her wedding photography via a competition […]

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you’ll probably know that this past weekend I went to London for the first Etsy UK Wedding Event. It was a fabulous showcase of British Etsy sellers who are crafting beautiful wedding items and I was delighted to be invited to get involved. I’ve long been a fan (and customer) of Etsy, a number of my TNWC businesses have Etsy shops, and I’ve always tried to support small hand, are businesses by featuring their work here on the blog. No doubt there are lots of you who would have liked to attend the […]

Here at The Natural Wedding Company I love to promote seasonality, and to encourage and inspire couples to choose to plan their weddings fitting in with the season whether that be flowers, food, or decorations.  Choosing seasonal blooms for your wedding flowers is one way to reduce the environmental impact of your big day (rather than imported flowers), as well as reflecting the beautiful and varied times of year. Recently on my Facebook feed I’ve been seeing one particular spring flower popping up in bouquets from various TNWC flower businesses – the snake’s head fritillary.  This very dainty bell like […]
