Today’s romantic vintage wedding inspiration comes via a beautiful photoshoot from Mademoiselle Fee. Some of my favourite wedding photoshoots have been sent to us from Stefanie at Mademoiselle Fee (you can see them here and here) and they always have a beautiful back story.
The raspberry red wedding florals, a wedding dress inspired by Romanian fairytales, and a romantic dessert table are all set against the backdrop of a 14th Century watermill. So many lovely details and ideas to inspire you for your own wedding if you are wanting a romantic and vintage feel.
Austrian based stylist Stefanie told me about this romantic vintage wedding inspiration photoshoot…
Romantic vintage wedding inspiration
I love that Stefanie had created a short story idea to inspire the photoshoot:
The story is about a young woman from ancient times longing for her fiancé to join her at her grandmother’s place. The two are engaged and plan their wedding. She awaits his arrival and has put on her most beautiful dress, having prepared coffee and sweets to celebrate their reunion.
Romantic dessert table and vintage china
Stefanie chose a raspberry red as their colour for the photoshoot, which she incorporated in subtle touches into the sweet treats and flowers. By choosing one colour shade it really ties dessert table together to create a stunning display. You could use this idea for your own wedding, even if you aren’t planning on having a colour theme.
I love the hints of raspberry red throughout the cakes and biscuits – from the delicate jam layer in the macarons, to the raspberry topped tarts, and chocolate cake pops decorated with a pink flower. It’s all very romantic and inviting.
Stefanie used vintage porcelain and bunting to decorate for this romantic vintage wedding inspiration.
Raspberry red wedding florals and a flower crown
The raspberry red colour was incorporated into the floral decorations that the team created. The table decorations included sweet peas in shades of vibrant red and pink, contrasted against yellow greens and dainty white blossom.
The bridal bouquet features cherry red peonies, sweet peas and scabious which pop out against the greeny yellow foliage. It is a refreshing take on a red focused wedding bouquet.
Interestingly the flower crown doesn’t feature any shades of red, instead the florist has created a romantic circlet of green foliage (including rosemary) and small white roses.
Modern fairy tale wedding dress
Stefanie and the team chose a truly romantic wedding dress for this photoshoot, which complements the theme and story beautifully. It has a soft vintage feel while remaining modern, and I particularly love the lace back detail and pale pink ribbon sash.
The wedding dress is from Austrian wedding dress designer Patricia Vincent’s ‘Gentle Fairies & The Golden Flowers’ collection. Patricia says that: “each collection in my signature line represents an interpretation of the traditional Romanian fairy tale of Sânziane, translating elements and themes of the traditional fable into timeless dresses.”
A 14th Century water mill in the Viennese woods
With a suitably romantic story for her photoshoot, Stefanie needed to find a venue and backdrop that matched it. She came across Schönbecks Mill in the beautiful Viennese woods, part of it dating back to the 14th Century. This historic water mill now hosts weddings, and it was the perfect fit for Stefanie’s vision for the photoshoot.
A big thank you to Stefanie for sending us this romantic vintage wedding inspiration photoshoot. You can view all Stefanie’s photoshoots on our blog at this link for Mademoiselle Fee.
