15 Natural Wedding Hair Styles: for the bride looking for a down-to-earth and effortlessly beautiful look
I thought we would welcome in 2015 with a series of features of some of our favourite 15 wedding ideas, a great introduction for new brides-to-be to the kind of style and things we love here at The Natural Wedding Company.
Throughout my childhood and teenage years I absolutely adored playing with my hair and trying out different hair styles, I loved having my hair done by the little girls I babysat for, and when my own little sister came along I had so much fun styling her hair too – so what better place to start than 15 of my favourite natural bridal hair styles.
All of these natural wedding hair ideas can be found on our Pretty Wedding Hair Pinterest board, along with hundreds more like them. I only really like to share images on the blog where I can track down the original source and credit the photographer, so some of my particular favourites didn’t make it here to the blog.
They were too good not to tell you about – such as this incredible fairytale hairstyle, this dreamy pinned up do which reminds me of Jane Austen heroines, and this Grecian knotted plait entwined with subtle glittery jewels.
Natural Heidi plaits
Why not add a tiny spring of ferns to your Heidi plaits/braids like we did here for this photoshoot?
Relaxed and natural wedding hair bow
A great alternative to wearing flowers in your hair or a veil – perfect for bridesmaids in fabric or colours to complement their dresses.
Loose twisted natural wedding hair up do
Such a natural and effortless style, creating a blank canvas to add a pretty hair clip or some fresh flowers.
Natural wedding hair partly pinned up with loose curls
Perhaps one the simplest wedding hair style for the natural bride – classic loose curls with a few strands twisted and pinned up.
Natural plaited up do entwined with dainty beads and ribbon
I would love to see more brides incorporating delicate ribbons into their wedding hair styles – such a lovely idea and a bit different to flowers and jewels.
Mythical twist and bun half up half down wedding hair
An interesting combination of hair styles here for a natural bride who wants a hint of the mythical, medieval or fairytale.
Natural messy plaited crown for short wedding hair
A bride with shorter hair can also still enjoy natural plaited styles, such as this half up half down wedding hair with simple plaits/braids.
Tiny knotted and plaited bun wedding hair style
Not every bride will love plaits/braids, so we love this elegant mass of tiny knotted buns at the nape of the neck as an alternative.
Natural plaited half up half down wedding hair
A criss-crossing of loose plaits/braids are ideal for a natural country bride.
Loosely pinned mass of curls for a natural wedding hair style
A bit like the beauty of ‘just picked’ wedding bouquets, this effortless looking mass of pinned curls is probably a lot more difficult to achieve than it looks!
Natural twist half up half down wedding hair
Understated but naturally elegant, a simple twist for a bride with lovely long locks.
Natural and loose modern bridal bun
A bun but not as you know it, no tightly twisted styles here, only delicately pinned for a natural wedding look.
Plaited natural wedding hair style with tiny flowers and pearls
Pretty plaits/braids that tumble down from your brow and end up woven together to form this romantic wedding hair style.
Old Hollywood 1920s elegant pinned curls
Great Gatsby inspired elegant wedding hair, but naturally pinned with a few poised curls.
Twisted half up half down natural wedding hair
Simple twists of hair seamlessly (how do they do that, right?!) pinned together, with a few tendrils around your face.
