Cake love: a wedding cake feast decorated with summer blooms and edible flowers
It may be turning rainy and wet here in England, but I am well and truly looking ahead to the summer and warmer weather. I think it’s time to continue on from last week’s summery peony decorated wedding cake, and showcase another flower adorned beauty.
Normally I give you just one picture for my Cake Love feature, but today I’m including three as they show how diverse and pretty the cakes were at this wedding. There are the stunning cheesecakes above simply decorated with a single showy dahlia at their centre, and some with the addition of some fragrant herbs.
And finally, there’s a beautiful shot of the entire cake table, with those dahlia decorated cheesecakes, trays of cupcakes, and what looks like a single tall white wedding cake with a mass of ruby red dahlias on top.
Just make sure that you source flowers (both edible and non-edible) from a reputable local flower farmer who doesn’t spray them with chemicals – no one wants a scrummy slice of cake with added nasties. If you’re in the UK check out our fab list of flower growers and florists for local and seasonal wedding blooms.
