Cake love: a subtle seaside wedding cake decorated with succulents

Charlie

Seaside succulent wedding cake

If you’re planning a seaside or beach wedding but don’t want to have an overtly themed wedding cake, I think this is a wonderful example of how you can include subtle elements that still compliment the location of your wedding.

Most obviously, this pretty white wedding cake has the two starfish at the bottom, but there are other details that I think give that seaside feel without being overt.  The succulents and seaweed-esque foliage that have been chosen remind me of clifftops and coral reefs, whilst not being a cake decorated like one.

With the help of skilled suppliers and a bit of creative thinking, I’m confident anyone can come up with ideas that can subtly reflect elements of their wedding day without having to feel they are tacky or overly themed.

This cake is beautiful! Do you think that is a fabric cake stand on the bottom?

Hi Jennifer, you know I hadn’t looked at it like that, but now you mention it I agree it looks almost like a stripy cushion. It would be a great idea though :)
