Inspiration for an autumnal wedding – wool, hessian, pumpkins and old fashioned hues
Today I have seen so many things that sparked ideas for an autumnal wedding that I felt the best way to share them was with an inspiration board. If I was planning an autumn wedding I think I would be inspired by wool, hessian, pumpkins, and old-fashioned hues.
Decorating for an autumn wedding
I would decorate with lots of galvanised metal buckets and pewter jugs, filled with the last of the summer flowers in soft, warm colours. Pumpkins, squashes and gourds can be found in your local farm shops and look wonderful just as they are. I would use old woolen blankets on hay bales for seating or used like a tablecloth for a cake table.
Dressing for an autumn wedding
For me I would embrace the season, fitting the boys out in country tweed suits, knitted ties and buttonholes of wheat or seedheads. Bridesmaids would be wrapped in chunky knit scarves and maybe even mittens to keep them warm. Amongst all those soft colours I would try to bring in a pop of colour – like the gorgeous teal blue of that hat or a pretty bouquets of Dahlia flowers.
