Wedding Yurts

Handcrafted luxury yurts to create an impressive boutique venue

Who are we...

My name is Lizzie and I run Wedding Yurts with my partner, Jim. We love yurts because they are perfectly designed to create a beautiful, spacious and stable structure which can be erected almost anywhere, giving the bride and groom the freedom and flexibility to reflect their own personality in their big celebration.

Our luxury Wedding Yurts have been designed to to host intimate wedding receptions and are the perfect alternative to a traditional marquee. They have been hand-crafted out of sweet chestnut wood and covered in cream canvas, providing the ideal solution for couples looking to host a reception that embraces the countryside without losing the luxury and style that a bricks and mortar venue offer.

We work closely with the master craftsmen to create a venue which is light and spacious. Our yurts have solid oak floors, extra large doors and our 32ft yurt features a beautiful big window which creates the perfect backdrop for the top table, showing off the views of your chosen wedding venue or in the evening rows of fire woks lighting up the landscape. They can be erected separately or connected together to create a large venue with extra yurts podded on for our Champagne Yurt Bar, cloakroom, crèche or lounge.

Our Wedding Yurts can be installed in: a garden for a garden-style wedding party, a field for a festival-style wedding party, by a river or a lake for a picnic-style wedding party, or in the woods for a secret wedding party.

Our luxury Wedding Yurt packages includes solid oak wooden floors, furniture, strings of golden fairy lights, vintage crystal chandeliers and wood burners, the yurts need very little decoration and posses a relaxed and magical atmosphere. For couples who want to create their own look and feel to suit their personalities the yurts offer a blank canvas. You can decorate as you wish or we can work with your ideas and tailor make a package which suits you.

Our Champagne Yurt Bar includes beautiful vintage wooden bar, wood burner, fairy lights, chandeliers, stunning fuchsia pink interior, décor, soft furnishings, glasses, ice, staff, licenses and insurance. The Menu can be tailored to suit your tastes and we can create a signature cocktail for you.

Our hand crafted yurts are made from wood from local, sustainable woodland lovingly made the old-fashioned way with hand tools and time-honoured techniques, we use natural cotton canvas and the yurts are finished with eco products.

We are low impact meaning we leave places / venues just as we found them following a 'leave no trace' policy.

We recycle everything we can and advise our couples to find local suppliers, to think about seasonal flowers to decorate the yurts and encourage caterers, if using disposable plates etc to choose compostable /biodegradable.

We certainly won’t save the world on our own, and I doubt we are carbon neutral because of our nomadic way of life but all the little efforts contribute to the bigger picture.

Clients Say...

"“Our wedding day was amazing, I know everyone says that, but it really was! It would not have been as beautiful and amazing had we not chosen Wedding Yurts. Lizzie and Jim were brilliant from the very beginning. There is so much involved with having a wedding at home, but they really helped put our minds at rest with all their knowledge and experience. There were so manydecisions to make and Lizzie helped tremendously with this, from the decor, the wine and welcome drinks, towhere to put the beer bar! Lizzie and Jim became part of the family the week before the wedding and we really enjoyed having them around, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole run up to the big day; seeing the yurts develop each day was wonderful. We couldn’t have wished for a more professional, personal service than we received: they are a real credit to the wedding scene. They were so trustworthy and reliable, and we have never met such hard working people. We really wish them so much luck for the future and hope everyone decides to choose the yurts because it really made our big day so special.”" - Claire and Andrew Baber, June 2013
