Growing flowers and foliage with tender loving care not chemicals
Who are we...
Hi, I’m Fiona, & Daisy Works is the culmination of a life’s work with plants, bringing together my skills & passions as a plant scientist, garden designer, environmentalist & flower faffer. My aim is to touch your life with evocative, sensual, seasonal British flowers.
Growing around an old Threshing Barn in Nottinghamshire, Daisy Works is our way of life. For us, flowers are a tangible expression of emotions - of love, friendship, joy, celebration, sadness & sympathy. We grow flowers & foliage with Tender Loving Care not chemicals, we gather them freshly from our gardens, and with passion and diligence, we create evocative, naturally-styled florals for weddings & special occasions. Everywhere around us we see the delicate balance of nature, and so we try hard to tread lightly on our planet and go about our business with as little damage to our environment as possible.
Our Wedding Flower service is bespoke - we take the time to get to know your preferences, and work with you, paying attention to every detail so that your flowers are a true reflection of you. Whether you choose your marriage to be epic & fairytale-style or private & intimate, we set out to create individual designs for every aspect of your celebration, with our fragrant, seasonal, ethereal flowers, aiming to touch your life with our exquisite florals, and help create evocative memories. And because our flowers are grown "greenly" & we only ever use British-grown flowers, they allow indulgence with an environmental conscience.
Daisy Works is named for my little brother Timothy, who used to ‘trip over daisies’ when he first lost the ability to walk. The daisy now works in his memory, as I am a committed fund-raiser for the national charity Muscular Dystrophy UK.
As part of a growing group of British artisan flower farmer-florists, Daisy Works are providing a luxurious, seasonal alternative to mass-produced imported flowers which otherwise dominate the floral markets in the UK. I am passionate about caring for the countryside around us, growing flowers without chemicals, and with as little damage to our environment as I can.
I grow organically, trying always to improve our sustainability, currently working on rain-water harvesting, trialing peat-free composts, using recycled plastic plant bags, and looking into natural heating methods to provide winter heat to extend the range of flowers that we grow.
I am equally as eco-friendly when it comes to arranging our flowers. I don’t use floral foams or cellophane, and I use recycled paper & cardboard made and sourced in the UK as far as possible. We also up-cycle materials like vintage lace & waste leather, use natural British wools, and use vintage jewellery as finishing details.
