Bride and groom at Arche Noah // Modern botanical vegan wedding inspiration // The Natural Wedding Company // Agnes & Andi Photography

Today’s modern botanical vegan wedding inspiration shoot aims to illustrate that ‘having a vegan wedding does not mean a bride wearing a bag for a dress.’ According to the Vegan Society veganism has grown 350% in the last ten years. It is then great to see that industries such as the wedding industry are starting to embrace the trend which goes hand in hand with eco-friendly values.

As we very well know choosing eco-friendly doesn’t mean you need to compromise on style. The same can now be said for a vegan weddingHellbunt Events the team behind the concept and styling have created such a beautiful shoot with an incredible dessert table featuring edible succulents, a gorgeous bridal couple wearing fair-trade clothing and rings, and classy flower arrangements in shades of blush.

Rachel and Lee’s autumn lake house wedding with outdoor ceremony and sunflower bouquets for this boat loving couple // Davey and Krista Photography // The Natural Wedding Company

The first Real Wedding of 2017 is a little different because this time we travel across the pond to the beautiful East Coast of America. Rachel and Lee’s early autumn lake house wedding is a feast for tired January eyes. They held their wedding at Rachel’s family’s Lake House in Maryland under the hazy September sun.

Before we catch up with bride Rachel to learn more about this rowing boat-filled, sunflower-adorned day, a few words from to TNWC’s Charlie…

This wedding feels close to my heart, which might sound strange when I’ve never met Rachel or Lee, but I have got to know Rachel a little over the past year. Firstly she shared with me her nautical wedding invitations inspired by my own save the dates. I especially loved that the “tying the knot” element (inspired by this version of mine) had such relevance to their love of sailing.

Since their wedding, Rachel and Lee have been on the most incredible 12 month adventure sailing around America in their yacht. I have followed their adventures on Instagram and have kept in touch following their return to dry land, where Rachel has set up her own business Rachel Kendall Events. I am so thrilled that we get to share their wedding with you.

Ballerina Wedding Dress by Minna // Styling Charlotte Munro // Paulo De Paulo photography // The Natural Wedding Company

Today’s elegant rustic ballerina wedding shoot, set in an urban oasis in the heart of London, is a beautiful showcase of eco-friendly and ethical wedding suppliers.

Although people are growing more and more discerning regarding the use of ethical and eco-friendly products, it is still not common place in the mainstream and this also rings true for the wedding industry. You only have to look at our directory of recommended suppliers however, to know that there is an abundance of incredible independent businesses producing beautiful products for your big day with ethics at their heart. It is lovely to see these sorts of companies gain more recognition, and today’s shoot brought to us by stylist Charlotte Munro and photographer Paola De Paola does exactly that, showcasing some brilliant businesses including many TNWC recommended suppliers.

Eco-friendly wedding inspiration

Stylist Charlotte explains a little bit more about the inspiration behind the shoot…

‘The main focus of this shoot was on ethical and eco-friendly weddings, something that more and more couples are considering for their wedding day, but hasn’t yet been well publicised on wedding blogs and in magazines. Myself and professional photographer Paola De Paola wanted to change that with a beautiful, editorial styled shoot that focuses on ethical wedding companies.

We wanted to focus on suppliers who could bring their own ethical and eco-friendly ethos to the shoot and create something organic and beautiful that any couple could take away with them to incorporate into their own wedding day. I decided to introduce the ballerina aspect as I loved the concept of something flowing and beautiful, and to help convey our message – that it’s not always easy or straightforward to plan an ethical wedding, but the end result is beautiful, soulful, and can still follow fashion trends.’

Seasonal summer bouquet of sweet peas and lavender

What a beautiful feast of floral design we have for you today!  If you are planning a summer wedding and have just started thinking about your wedding flowers, then grab of cup of something warm and settle down to soak up some inspiration from one of our florists, Campbell’s Flowers.

Over the summer Tracey and her team at Campbell’s Flowers had a lovely intern – Kate – working for them.  To celebrate the end of her internship they put together a shoot of stunning seasonal blooms, and my gosh are they heavenly.  Kate also works as a second shooter for a wedding photographer so she’s pretty nifty with a camera, capturing this beautiful floral collection at Sheffield Botanical Gardens.

Here’s Kate to tell you more about what they did…

Flower necklace of cosmos and nigella

To mark the final day of an amazing internship with Campbell’s Flowers, we ventured off to shoot some beautiful British grown bouquets.  While taking shelter from the summer showers we made use of the beautiful light in the Pavilions in Sheffield Botanical Gardens and got some lovely soft shots of the interchangeable flower necklace and flower crown, crafted from locally grown seasonal flowers.

Succulent wedding cake with bear cake topper

I really must say that I have really fallen for succulents – in bouquets of flowers, table arrangements, and on wedding cakes.  This simple white tiered wedding cake is no exception, with its forest of succulents and very cute bear cake topper.

Succulents are appearing more and more in wedding decorations and are a perfect eco-friendly option because they are so hardy and with care will continue living long after your wedding day.

Snowy winter wedding cake with succulents

I don’t know about you, but I’m dreaming of a snowy Christmas…and I’ve got rain.  Boo!  So for those of us who can only dream about flurries of snow I thought I’d bring a little snowy inspiration to my Cake Love post today.

These look like chocolate or gingerbread bundt cakes that have been artfully decorated with white icing, which to me looks like snow.  The addition of the succulents really brings this cake together and makes it something rather special for a winter wedding.
