I have love-hate feelings about Halloween, I’m never sure whether I really like it or not. I love the pumpkins, the colours, the feelings of festivities, but I’m not so keen on the plastic tat that fills the shops. With my personal feelings out of the way, I wanted to acknowledge the day in some way – I considered doing a round-up of gorgeous pumpkin inspiration, but there are lots of other blogs who’ve done this well in the past week I decided I would probably just be repeating it all.

I know it’s rather late to be posting, but I just wanted to share a few words and pictures on this very exciting night. Tomorrow is my 5th birthday party – no, not myself, but for The Natural Wedding Company. If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that during March we celebrated 5 years since the website launched with loads of wonderful offers and competitions, if this is your first visit then welcome!

Tomorrow I have 11 lovely guests – all readers of The Natural Wedding Company blog and girls who have used the directory to help plan their wedding. Some of them are brides-to-be in the midst of planning their weddings, others like myself are recently married – one only just got married yesterday!

I have a huge desire to throw a party, a party like our wedding – one where I can spend ages dreaming up and creating all the little details, perhaps one without the stress of saying ‘I do’ in the middle of it. I am a great collector and hoarder of old finds, perhaps you are too, and I especially like finding new and unusual uses for them – whether it be around …

Mark and I drove together and ate a glamorous dinner at Little Chef. The party was held at the BALTIC Centre and was full of gorgeous people in equally gorgeous outfits. We drank cocktails, munched our way through scrummy cake pops and shoe-shaped biscuits, watched an incredible burlesque performance, and took some bad photos …

I can’t believe that my hen party was nearly two weeks ago now – where does the time go! It was organised by two friends of mine, with a lovely lunch and afternoon tea, but the main part was a gorgeous woodland walk before having hot chocolate with marshmallows in a bell tent deep in the wood. It was perfect. A big thank you to May and Jane for organising it, and to my friends Maria, Sophia, Kate and my mom and sister Izzy for coming to share the afternoon with me. It was lovely knowing nothing about what was …
