It’s that time of the week when I try to post some inspiration for those of us who no longer have a wedding to plan, but still love to make our house a homemade home. Even if you are planning a wedding, it’s likely that you enjoy similar things for your home. This week I have this great idea for reusing old books that are so fallen apart they need a new lease of life reincarnated as something new.
Somebody has seen the potential in those beautiful old book spines which doesn’t require much tinkering with – turn them into bookmarks. Very simply, you glue an extra bit of strength to the book spines in the form of some card cut to size, then punch a hole and thread through ribbon at one end. It’s really that simple.

I’m not a huge fan of going with wedding ideas that don’t mean much to you or that don’t have relevance to you as a couple. It seems rather daft to use things simply for the sake of it, when there must be so many other ideas out there that do mean something to you that can be incorporated into your wedding day.
So I’m not suggesting this is an idea for everyone, but its a pretty clever idea I think – perfect if you are a book lover, or perhaps you met in a University library. This table plan has been created by grouping old books together and tying them with ribbon, with each pile of books representing a table. Then into each book tucking a piece of paper with each guests name on.
