An evening at the Silver Sixpence “Made By You” bridal workshop

I am priveledged to live near a vibrant community of small, independent wedding businesses with more and more opportunities to meet with them and experience the products and services they offer.  A few weeks ago I got to spend the evening with Nicola from Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe at her new “Made By You” bridal workshop. We were joined by a group of brides-to-be, two of whom I’d previously met at my 5th birthday party the month before, and another couple I’ve exchanged emails with.  Each bride-to-be was there to create a unique bridal accessory that they could wear on …

For all of us who want to get ‘stuck in’ with our wedding days, we really are spoilt with fantastic opportunities to learn how to do a multitude of things, from making vintage inspired bridal headpieces to learning how to put together a bouquet.  And even if we decide in the end not to use the skills, they are wonderful fun. A spring open day and photoshoot to celebrate the new cathedral size wedding yurt from Hooe’s Yurts

The Easter weekend saw a fabulous open day hosted by Hooe’s Yurts in deepest, most beautiful Devon.  They were celebrating the completion of their huge new 44ft yurt – a cathedral sized structure that can seat 120 wedding guests, or even linked to smaller yurts to create an even bigger space. It’s time’s like these when I wish I didn’t live so far north as I would have loved to attend the open day with Amy and Max from Hooe’s Yurts (especially as it was just up the road from my granny’s home!).  Like you, I shall have to be …

Book your place on our cut flower growing and arranging workshop with Catkin Flowers

Back at the beginning of April I ran a competition in conjunction with Catkin Flowers to win a place on an upcoming (and exclusive to The Natural Wedding Company) cut flower growing and arranging course.  The very lucky Nik won the competition, but for those of you still keen to come there are an additional 8 places now available. If you’d like to join myself, Nik, and Rachel from Catkin Flowers for a lovely day of learning how you can start your own cut flower garden and how to arrange with homegrown flowers, then read on… Who’s the workshop for? …

An extraordinary evening at An Era of Experience – the wonderful new travelling vintage party

There has been so much going on recently in my TNWC world that I can barely keep up – much of it very exciting.  Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the press event that launched a fabulous new travelling vintage party called An Era of Experience. Before I jump in to telling you all about my experience of An Era of Experience, I’d like to introduce you to the four talented ladies behind this collaboration. They are Sharon, owner of vintage china and prop hire company For The Love Of Vintage; Bethany Jane Davies, the glamorous …

Sneak peek of my lace and feather birdcage veil from An Era of Experience

I wasn’t planning on a lunchtime blog post, but I really wanted to share a quick picture of the birdcage veil I made last night at An Era of Experience.  With much help from the lovely Nicola of Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe, I created this navy blue and cream birdcage veil, with feathers and lace, and blue netting. If you fancy making something similar, Nicola is running an exclusive “Made By You” bridal workshop in May where you can create your own, handmade headpiece, garter or ring pillow.  There are still places available on the workshop if you haven’t …
