I thought it might be nice to do a round-up of what some of the lovely businesses listed on the directory have been up to recently.  So I’ve had a snoop round their blogs and decided I would feature some seasonal flower photos, for the following reasons: I just can’t get enough of English flowers at the moment (probably spurred on by the buckets of gorgeous flowers I had to arrange for my wedding) They are always such a positive and beautiful reflection of our seasonal countryside Charlie Ryrie from The Cut Flower Garden has been creating floral wonders such […]

In case you missed yesterday’s post, this week we are celebrating homegrown seasonal blooms by supporting British Flowers Week 2015. We are hoping to inspire you each day of this week with a feature on each of the seasons, and provide you with loads of ideas for your own wedding flowers. Without further-ado, let’s launch into this seasonal round-up of wedding flowers with summer, because that’s where we’re up to in the year. The summer months I’m focussing on here are June, July and August, so if you are looking to have a wedding during one of those months, here […]

Well it has just about been forever since I last shared some wedding cake inspiration here on my Cake Love feature, but I am back with an absolute beauty that I’m convinced you’ll all fall in love with. This exquisite ‘Summer Meadow’ wedding cake was designed and made by our very own Amy Swann Cakes who you will find listed in the Cakes section of our directory. Amy is a firm favourite of ours with her incredible talent at creating sugar paste flowers that look almost more real than real flowers!

So bursting out of all the beautiful winter wedding inspiration I have shared over the past few months, is a glimmer of late spring/early summer.  These little jam jars filled with herbs (mint, oregano, flowering chives) and those gorgeous blue cornflowers might well have been snapped on a […]

I’m still hanging onto thoughts of summer despite the bitter chill in the air.  This wedding reminds me of all those things I love about summer and the kind of summer you dream of. This is the kind of wedding I’d like to go to – the tables are decorated in an understated way with the odd colourful flower adding bursts of cheeriness, but otherwise unfussy and beautiful.

I would never have thought that dried flowers could look so pretty at a wedding – but from the buttonholes, to the bridesmaids bouquet, and the wreath in the flowergirl’s hair, these dried yellow and white daisies are beautiful.  In particular I like the combination of the flowers with the pale coloured suit and dresses, and the oatmeal colour of the twine.
