Sometimes I think it’s easy to get swept up overdoing your wedding reception tables – from lots of elaborate table centrepieces, to knick-knacks that hark back to the days you first met and table names declaring the countries you’ve holidayed in.
I think it’s good to remember that if you don’t feel compelled to do all those things, you can still make your wedding tables look inviting and welcoming with a few pretty dishes, maybe some worn-silver serving spoons, and a jug of flowers. For our wedding we wanted a relaxed dinner party feel for our meal, and so took inspiration from family meals in the garden and evenings with friends.
Think about your favourite meals spent with family and friends. Go with what made those lunches or dinners special, capture what it was that made those memories that stick in your mind, and pull together ideas for your wedding tables that celebrate those great times.
