New Wives Club #7: homemade wooden windowsill seed trays
Charlie / 5 August 2012
Ok, so I’ve been pretty pants at bringing you a Sunday New Wives Club post – the weekly blog post for all those girls like me who’ve got married and still want an outlet for pretty, handmade things, just for their home instead of their wedding. I could make excuses for why I haven’t been sharing this feature more regularly, but I thought I’d just promise to try and get better at it.
So today I wanted to share a link to these homemade windowsill seed trays for holding seedlings and plants. Whilst like me, you might not have access to rather nice ex-bakery bread boards like these, I’m sure we could still hobble something together in a similar fashion.
I am fed up of those icky plastic trays you get from the garden centre – William Morris said “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful” – well, the plastic ones may be useful but I dream of useful things that are also pretty to look at as well.
Anyone else on the quest for a home full of useful and beautiful things? Would love to hear any tips for how to achieve this dream!
