I had a terrible sinking feeling on Monday – I realised I’d missed last Friday’s Cake Love post. Argh!  Sorry to anyone who was looking out for a bit of weekly cake inspiration, hopefully this beauty will make up for it.

This week I have this simple but rather glorious heart wreath wedding cake.  Those edible pink and gold hearts around the top of the cake remind me of the laurel wreaths worn by Emperors in Greek and Roman mythology.  I really like that different shades of pink have been used, plus the additional gold hearts.  You can actually buy these edible hearts in a variety of colours (not sure if they ship to the UK), but at any rate some gorgeous inspiration.
