Announcing the winner of the illustrated wedding map from Pigeon & Quill plus a surprise!

Illustrated wedding map winner

I always love sharing a competition winner with you, and today is no exception.  A couple of weeks ago I launched a fantastic competition to win an illustrated map of your wedding day events from new business Pigeon & Quill (website coming soon).  There were loads of lovely entries for this competition, so a huge thank you to everyone who entered.

Alexandra, the illustrator behind Piegon & Quill has spent time reading through each entry and reading about your lovely wedding plans.  I think she has found it really difficult to select just one winner (I know I would have struggled!) but she has made her decision…

Illustrated wedding map winner

Alexandra told me, “After careful consideration i have chosen Myfanwy and Tom!  Myfanwy provided such clear imagery and there are lots of things in there that I’d love to draw.  Her description instantly conjured up a very clear picture in my mind – the sausage dog, the sea, cider barrels, pottery hearts, a wedding tipi, Wales, textiles – it’s really different!  I know exactly what to do with it and I hope that Myfanwy and Tom will love all of my ideas and that they will end up with a map they can cherish.”

But that’s not all!

Alexandra was particularly moved by one entry, so she has decided that in addition to Myfanwy and Tom’s winning map that she would like to create another wedding map for one lucky couple. “I would like to create a wedding map for Sheila and her fiance, as a personal gift from me to wish them well. Sheila’s story touched everyone who read it, i’m sure, and after all they have been through, I hope they have a fantastic day.”

In addition to this, Alexandra’s printers have offered to print and post Shelia’s map free of charge. “I have spoken to my wonderful printers, Oldacres of Hatton Garden, and they have offered to print digital copies of Sheila’s map, free of charge.  Oldacres wish the couple all the best and hope this gesture takes a bit of pressure off of their budget.”

I would like to say a huge thank you to Alexandra for running such a wonderful competition for readers of The Natural Wedding Company.  My warmest wishes to all those couples who entered the competition, your wedding plans sound incredible and I hope that you enjoy putting together these very special days.

I would also like to extend my thanks to Oldacres Printers for their generosity in printing copies of Shelia’s map free of charge.  Finally, congratulations to our winners Myfawny and Tom – I will be in touch to connect you up with Alexandra.

A final word from Alexandra: “Thank you so much to everyone for sharing your exquisite wedding plans with us all, I really enjoyed reading each one of them and it was SO HARD to choose!  I wish I’d done this before i got married – there are amazing ideas in there…. although I don’t think that Mr Pigeon & Quill would be up for a renewal ceremony though!”

I can’t wait to see the finished maps that Alexandra creates for these beautiful weddings.

Oh my goodness – thankyou SO much! I can’t believe that Alexandra is going to do this for us as well as the worthy winners; and for Oldacres Printers to offer to print copies free of charge for us is unbelievably generous! Bruce is now at home recuperating after long and complicated surgery and we are waiting the consultant’s decision over chemotherapy. This will give a kick start to our planning and I will be scouring this fabulous blog again for more lovely, thrifty ideas. I hope Myfanwy and Tom share their plans in more detail as the description sounded wonderful. Good luck to everyone with their weddings and many thanks to you all again!
Sheila
