I am loving the influx of talented illustrators who are turning their hand to creating stunning wedding stationery that is not only beautiful, but in many cases eco-friendly too. Today I want to introduce you to Hollyhock Lane, a brand new wedding stationery business set up by artist and illustrator Julie Annis.
Plus, Julie is offering readers of The Natural Wedding Company an exclusive 15% discount on all orders placed before August 20th 2012, so if you love her designs below or want a bespoke design, simply mention The Natural Wedding Company when you get in touch with Julie.
From her little cottage in rural Sussex, Julie is busy dreaming up and creating quirky wedding stationery that has all the charm and creativity that I certainly was searching for when planning my wedding. Hollyhock Lane provides a collection of ready designed stationery or you can commission Julie to create a bespoke design that intimately captures the essence of your wedding day.
The Hollyhock Lane Collections:
Inspired by Julie’s own woodland wedding – whether you’re getting married in the woods or are using nature as an inspiration.
Honeysuckle & Blossom
Evoking a vintage floral feel – inspired by the flowers of midsummer.
Fun and quirky vintage wedding stationery – illustrations based on 1960s designs from Julie’s parents wedding.
Strong and brightly coloured painted chevrons – a stylish and classic design but still a bit quirky.
A sneak peek at what’s coming soon…
Simple and sophisticated for a winter wedding – the mistletoe leaf wreaths can be embossed in silver or gold if you wish.
Julie says, “My ideas come from the things that inspired my own outdoorsy wedding as well as the little things that catch my imagination from day to day. All the designs I create, start their lives on good old-fashioned paper, and I use pens, paints and inks as well as cut out shapes to form designs that are fun and pretty which I then translate into digital formats for modern printing presses.”
Hollyhock Lane print all their wedding stationery using a local printer with green credentials, who uses vegetable based inks and prints onto luxuriously thick 100% recycled card. “The finished result is uncoated, lending itself to a matt crafted feeling which works particularly well with my designs.”
As a newly started venture, Julie is looking to add to the Hollyhock Lane collection of designs in the future and is keen to work with couples on bespoke designs. Julie can create a design that’s unique to you as a couple, incorporating elements such as how you met or perhaps your wedding venue. Here’s a recent design she did for a couple planning a summery picnic style wedding…
You can contact Julie at email@example.com or via the contact form on her website. I also wanted to wish Julie the very best from all of us as she’s about to welcome a new addition to her family in August – how exciting!
