Be inspired by feathers in this collection of natural and rustic wedding ideas
Charlie / 21 July 2012
I’m signed up to the Etsy weddings e-newsletter that pops into my inbox every-so often – I always enjoy seeing what collections they have put together and what trends they are seeing. It was in one of those newsletters that I spotted a rather pretty picture of three old blue glass bottles with feathers in them, which got me thinking what a nice alternative to floral table decorations they would make.
So I decided to see what other feather inspired ideas there were out there to share with anyone looking for something a bit different, or perhaps for a winter or early spring wedding when British grown flowers are thin on the ground. I would always encourage you to make sure you source your feathers responsibly, collecting them on country walks sounds like a good option to me.
The blue bottles that inspired my search – a lovely alternative for wedding table decorations…
Why not incorporate smaller feathers into your wedding stationery…
Accessorise yourself and your groom-to-be with feathers in subtle or striking ways – feather buttonholes, a vibrant feather necklace, or these pretty rose and pheasant feather earrings from TNWC business Bijou Bijoux…
Not real feathers, but these pretty paper feather garlands strung above your reception area would look beautiful and a bit different…
Finally, how about decorating your wedding cake with feathers – again I think this would be lovely for a winter wedding, or for anyone incorporating birds into their wedding ideas. Just make sure the feathers are clean first!
